    We are extremely pleased that Vacation Resorts International (VRI) has purchased Owners Resorts and Exchange (ORE). VRI is the largest full service timeshare management company in the U.S. The VRI corporate office is located in Southern California with four regional offices. The office in Salt Lake City will remain intact and operational with the existing team members under the direction of VRI.

    One of the most exciting opportunities this brings is to integrate the ORE internal exchange program into VRI and adding many of the VRI locations into the exchange program in 2007. The ORE internal exchange has been renamed “VRI*ety” but the services we provide will remain in tact and unchanged as will the way you use your timeshare in the internal exchange, RCI and II.

    Interesting - I own a VRI managed resort - Fairway of the Mountains - and I wonder how it will trade in the ORE system.
    I also see that Island Park Village is part of the network.....Hmmmmm

    Do you have any experience with ORE exchanges?

      Island Park is in the system however not the way you may think. MROP owns a number of weeks at island Park village - just as we own as individual owners. You will not be able to deposit & trade your individually owned IPV week through the VRI/ORE system (at least you could not when it was just ORE) However, if they start an internal trade system you may be able to deposit & trade your VRI for IPV.

      When it was just ORE, MROP members had trade priority back into the MROP weeks in the system. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

        Maybe I'm just tired and can't comprehend tonight; but does the internal exchange work for VRI members or just for ORE members with the VRI resorts added into their internal exchange program?

        I own 3 weeks with VRI and was curious if this is the start of something new for VRI

          I know Lawren knows about this.....the hope is that the VRI managed resorts will start to be included in the ORE/MROP internal exchange network.

            It is going to make the ORE system available to all VRI managed resort owners as an internal trade group. No membership fee and a much lower exchange fee than II or RCI. If all VRI resorts get in that means a 140+ to use. Pretty major "mini" system with no up front fee. This could be good.

              That would be great!! I can't wait! I have an internal trade with my vacation club (Melia) and it is so much easier to use; the exchange fee is next to nothing, less than $50.

                VRI Exchange Response

                Dear Owner,
                At this time we have not converted the exchange into your
                resorts (Foxrun & Landmark). It is going to be a long process because what needs to happen is the exchange program has to be presented to each of the associations and they have vote to see if they want theirs owners to participate in the exchange program. You will be informed as this exchange takes place.
