  • VRI 30 day priority for RCI to Hawaii?

I own a 1bedroom sleeps 6 RCI Silver Crown Mariners Boathouse Florida Beach Red Summer Week.
The property is managed by VRI and I have been told they have a 30 priority for anything deposited with RCI.
    1. Has anyone successfully used the priority?
2.Will it pull all VRI properties in Hawaii with the priority or only if it would have pulled them anyway?
I am looking to deposit 2009 and want to go May 2009 which is red but not prime for Hawaii... I deposited 2008 with SFX but so far no hits there...

How the priority works with RCI is that if you have a RCI/VRI RED week deposited - only you will be able to se the other VRI deposits for 30 days - I knew somone from another TS board who had a red spring studio at a very inexpensive MF VRI resorts (I will look it up when I get home) who routinely exchanged into 3BR Orlando VRI units plus other west coast VRI properties right on the beach in prime time.
So as long as you have a red week, you will see everything as it is deposited.
Now HOW MUCH is actually deposited and how much makes it into the exchange 'pool' versus 'rental pool' is another story but as you say May is not prime time so you should be just fine.

Let us know how you do -

I imagine with SFX (as with II) that they will not start getting inventory/deposits until 1 year to 9 months out.

edited to add it will see ALL VRI resorts even if you don't 'deserve' to see them - in that 30 day window - after that you might NOT see them, I am not sure.

I have been able to take advantage of VRI priority in RCI many times now. I have never tried for Hawaii but that should not be any different.

Most, if not all, VRI resorts in Hawai'i are part of Vacation Intenationale (VI). VI is it's own points-based mini-system. I'm not clear on exactly how weeks from VI move into RCI for exchange.

It's very likely that few of those VI weeks make it into RCI, particularly from Hawai'i. There has also been some question in the past regarding whether the VRI preference in RCI included the VI resorts.

I did recently exchange for an ORE week via RCI with the VRI priority.

There was a similar thread on TUG recently, and I would like to incorporate that discussion into this one.

That's interesting -- I've been wondering if the ORE resorts were included in VRI priority yet. I do know that they are not listed as part of the "Home Group" in RCI Points. (Not that there's many ORE properties that are in Points; Champions' Run might be the only one.)

I'm not sure if the Vacational Internationale properties are part of VRI priority or not. I know this topic has been discussed before, but I don't think anyone kenw for sure.
