  • VRI RCI Membership

Hi, thanks to the generosity of a fellow TS4MS member, I'm in the process of owning a unit at Tanglwood.

I would like to use the unit using the split week option. Has anyone successfully done this thru VRI?

I have an existing RCI points resort, once ownership transfers, do I need to do anything special to open my RCI weeks membership to get VRI discount and preference?

Also, does anyone know the amount of points a white week would get if I choose to do points for deposit?

    TIA

    Maria

Maria I have never done anything different. The VRI discount between VRI resorts is automatic. I think it may actually have expanded to include the ORE resrots as well. I have had to remind RCI VGs that I own VRI to get the 3 years for price of two on membership renewals.

I hope someone can answer your split week and points questions.

This is the same info I have.... my primary TS with RCI is a VRI unit but I too have to remind them of the 3 years for 2 thingy.
I have never deposited my VRI week with RCI.
      Sorry!

        Thanks Lawren and Pat!

I called VRI yesterday to get some info on reservation policies and the staff was the most knowledgable and courteous group of employees I have encountered in the timeshare world.

does it make a difference if the VRI resort is the primary resort tied to the account?

I do not believe so - you can contact VRI - there is a specific VRI/RCI number to call......I recently posted it here...BRB - I will get u the #
            (1-877-874-3334).

BTW, my VRI weeks trades REALLY well in II - and gets an accomodation cert every year (this might be the first year NOT!)

If you have aVRI unit which trades in II, why deposit in VRI when you can do a request first in II and see what you can get before committing.

I expect mine will too. But VRI has some resorts (northeast, and SFO) I am likely to be happy with over the next few years. I haven't been able to use some A/Cs since short notice isn't great for us for the time being... and I can add it to II and play without depositing.

                  VRI in II membership specials?

I've never used II but was thinking about trying it. I own a VRI property which can be used with RCI or II. Is there any discounted membership specials for VRI properties in II?

Not for VRI ownership at this time.
What resort and week do u own?
This would help us let u know if it would be a good one or not.

I did get an accomodation cert for weeks 17 and 25 at Fairway of the Mountains - my week 14 did not.

                      Thanks for the info.
Mine is close to Fairway of the Mountains. I just received my deed for Foxrun Week 25. I emailed VRI today and they said that you can't use the online system to prepay MF for upcoming years that I would have to send a check or use a CC over the phone. I haven't completely ruled out going next year to check it out but I thought it might be nice to see what kind of inventory II has.

FXR 25 will trade extremely well in II and will get an AC as well.
I call the resort directly and pay my fees - FXR and FWM share a check-in/management office.
If u add this to your II account, be sure to ask II to send u the postcard with the 'code' you will need to get your AC - it is now required to get it - either online or over the phone.
Tell them u will not deposit your week until u get the code in the mail. (even if u decide not to deposit.)
A friend just visited the resort last week and said how nice it was - she plans on visiting and staying there next year.

Thanks for the input. I do look forward to going there either in 2010 or 2011. I'm not a big fan of HOT and this year it was in the upper 90's during mid June. I'm hoping that it was a bit of an aberration and not normally so hot so early in the season. But I guess we can always cool down in the lazy river.
