MROP & RCI Points

Hello Fellow MROP/VRI owners,

Does anyone happen to know anything about how MROP works with RCI points? I know that they used to offer RCI conversion in the past; and through emails with VRI, there may be a plan to roll out something again to begin in late summer. I currently own a red week, and I'm thinking it might be a good idea to convert to RCI points. In the past, I think a red week was worth like 38,800 points, but the conversion fee was outrageous. I'm also thinking about purchasing another red week, given that it seems to be a buyer's market for MROP these days.

If anyone has advice or tips, I'd be ever grateful.

From the current MROP Vacation Handbook:

Conversion Point Values:
Red=38,000
White or Rotating=24,000
Blue=15,000

"All other point value are determined by purchase contract".

FYI, there was a MROP Points package on Ebay recently, Item # 160225525901 and that one ended at $6.50!

Maybe you can give the new internal VRI*ety exchange system a try, it's actually less expensive than a RCI points exchange would be ...

From what I've read here, 38,000 RCI points for a $465 yearly Maintenance Fee really isn't that great of a deal; a penny a point or less was mentioned as a 'good' ratio.
