  • Possible trip up the West Coast, Worldmark stays?

We currently do not own any Worldmark. What are thoughts on how doable a road trip is comprised of stays at Worldmark resorts when travelling from San Francisco to Seattle in the summer in terms of renting from Worldmark owners or doing private exchanges with our non-WM resorts ? Also, how far in advance to we need look at booking our specific dates? I venture we want spend either one or two nights only at each resort as our main destination is Seattle or Vancouver Canada.

I see the various locations at: https://www.worldmarktheclub.com/resorts/

WorldMark only allows you to book one week or longer stays during prime season. Short stays can be booked under 60 days before check-in.

You are looking at a "hot" area and the inventory goes very quickly when the booking window opens up at 13 months.

The problem you will face is there will be nothing at these locations to book a short stay.

Summer coast is going to be very difficult to get. That is considered red season and red season has to be booked for 7 night stays unless there is availability less than 90 days out.

Now, a 7 night stay doesn't mean 7 nights at the same resort. So, you could book 7 consecutive nights at 7 different resorts. You would need to pay for housekeeping at each location. It could get very expensive fairly quickly, but can still beat staying in hotels.

WM owners can book at 13 months out. There are a few coastal resorts that will need to be booked 13 months out for summer months.

There are some owners on wmowners.com who have a lot of contract and points and do rentals. You can post there and see if anyone wants to work with you. Remember the big cost will be the housekeeping at each location.

Good info about breaking up the stays. I mean, we can possibly stay seven nights, like two at each, which allows us some R&R time between the driving to explore the area around the resorts. I would actually enjoy this opportunity since this is our first time up the coast.

How does the housekeeping fee work, like is based per night stay?

It's based on unit size..not length of stay.

          See chart: https://www.worldmarktheclub.com/new...ime_fees.shtml

edited to add: WM Owners receive one free housekeeping token per 10,000 credits they own annually. Obviously it makes the most sense to use your token for large unit, long stay vacations.

If you can do it I would recommend starting at the World Mark in Marina CA. It is a great resort right at the beach about 10 miles north of Monterrey. The location is fabulous with close access to Carmel and Monterrey.

We are in Marina CA right now visiting our son and grandkids.

This will not work because we are starting from san francisco, which is a couple of hours drive north of monterey.

We drove from LA to Portland. We did manage to get WM bonus time in San Francisco, Running Y Ranch and Eagle Crest. All other stays were Courtyard by Marriott.
I think bonus time is a members only deal.
