Worldmark should not be bringing in policies that would benefit Trendwest sales to the detriment of its owners. If the two were seperate entities, this wouldn't be a problem.

It's also unfair for small account owner who can't book a vaction and let the credits expire.

I do not believe that the intent is to limit credit rentals to 2X your account size. I believe they plan to limit how those rented credits can be used. I've seen nothing in print on this...but my impression is that you would still be able to rent credits for personal use...but would not be able to rent credits and then use them for friends/family/rental purposes.

In other words...you could use your own credits for any of those uses(booking a trip for your folks etc or renting a week)...but rented credits would be restricted to reservations with the renting owner's name on them. So...I could rent credits and plan a family reunion...but I'd need to be there to check people in for the event.

I believe this may be implemented (if it hasnt already) to prevent misuse by those who use/used rented credits for commercial type rental businesses and were block booking the most prime WM weeks available for rental to the general public's highest bidder.

No idea if that made sense but I figured I'd give it a shot.

Yeah, that's right. I like the new rule. I think Jim P was successful in lobbying the WorldMark Board for a better solution. I am pretty happy with the resolution. So, they do occasionally listen to owners needs.
