  • Thoughts on this deal?

    I figured I'd start here.

I had a line on a 10K annual Sept points distribution account. It was originally advertised as full loaded but we've now determined that's no longer the case. There are only 6170 points left for this year. None have been borrowed against for next. The seller is willing to sell for $5K + $295 closing costs (includes transfer fee).

I've been quite patient looking for THE deal. With the resale prices dropping, how good a deal is this? I figure 10K ebay WM auctions have been selling for around $6200 - $6900 depending on how many banked points are available.

How much more will prices drop?

I think this is very good deal. This is below my average number 7 cents. You never know how more it wil drop, but I think your deal is one of the best I have ever seen. Is it from personal or dealer? I'd rather pay more from a reputable dealer than an unknown owner or unobscure dealer. The transfer process should be less than 3 weeks or about one weeks after you send the payment

Wow! You may have just found it. That's 51 cents per credit base price. I bought another 6000 credit account recently for more than that per credit. Boca might be along to give you the financial breakdown and the look on the horizon-which may help you decide-but if it were up to me-I'd buy it

You can't combine a canadian and us account if you wanted to do that in the future. Otherwise, the canadian accounts may be better at the moment due to the strong canadian currnecy. I'll bet the exchange rate between us and canada is favorable right now in worldmark.

Yep. I only wish I hadn't prepaid a lot of our 2008 MFs Didn't really have a choice because of having to deposit them with the exchange companies. That's another reason why the various points programs have their advantages over Weeks.

Thanks for the feedback. I guess I had it in my head that there are still better deals out there as long as a person is willing to look and wait.

Not really. I have been looking to buy more for 5 years, the price almost flat. The price seem drops a lot for the last two months. I bought two more accounts, the price is around 5 cent higher than yours. I don't think it's easy to find such a good deal.
