  • Occupancy limits?

How strict is the limit on the number of people? We have 3 small kids and I would hate to be forced into a 2 bed every stay when 1 will do. Certainly I am not trying to fit 10 people into a 1 bed, but I would think there would be some understanding for people that have more than the 2 child average.

Every confirmation I have seen from WorldMark states that occupancy is strictly enforced. We just had a full blown discussion about occupancy limits. Do a search and the thread will come up.

This is just me, but even with our family of four, a 1BR is a squeeze. A 2BR is just so much more pleasant, especially if the kids have a different bedtime.

I, too, have been told occupancy limits are strictly enforced. In most states, the fire department can fine them if they discover occupancy limits aren't being strictly enforced. To avoid fines, promote safety, and limit wear and tear on furnishings, which does occur when more people are in the unit, the board has been concerned with strict enforcement.

          Thanks

At least I know in planning for points. Many 2bds. are 12K and not 10. I wouldn't want to be stuck having to borrow, buy and rent because we didn't buy enough points. It is funny though, we have stayed in hotels with no beds and they are not as strict.

I totally agree! That 2nd bathroom sure is nice to have when you have kids with you also.

They should. Because it is controlled by local government. But it also it very hard to enforce. Unless someone report it, or you ask for 1 room, and bring like 10 people in. Since usually the employ will not come to your room unless you o.k. it. Unless local government care about it, but as hotel, people are move in and out frequently, so it usually is less enforced by local government.

We had 18 people in 2 two bed units in Leavenworth after an ice storm for one night. We had 8 in a 2 bed unit at Surfside for 4 out of 7 nites. We had 7 in a 2 bed unit at Eagle Crest for 7 nites. The occupancy has never been a problem and no one has ever enforced it but parking can be a problem. Kids don't take up much room.

I would be careful if you try. Most places state that occupancy is strickly enforced. That being said they may not check very often, but, if you happen to be caught they can give you the boot and I have heard about that being done, or force you to pony up cash for a larger unit if one is available.

Even if you are reported to have more people in your room, they may just be visiting. We have had 20 + people coming and going out of our unit at Eagle Crest when we had our golf party. At WM Ocean Side we had a party for a friends kid who had just returned from Afghanistan and had over 20 people coming and going with maybe a dozen or so who had to spend the night because it got too late.

Has anyone ever been approached about the ocupancy at a WM resort ? And if so, which one ?
