  • URGENT: Upcoming WorldMark BOD Elections - Help!

The following is an email from WorldMark Owners Community I have received, and I support it.

Here is how you can help to get an independent WorldMark owner elected to the WorldMark BOD.

Another Annual Election for WorldMark, the Club is here. You should have received election materials in your mailbox, and have seen in Destinations magazine, and/or in your email information about the election. Our Board of Directors suggests that your participation in WorldMark elections is made easiest by signing your proxy over to them, and they will take care of everything. But we know how they will use those proxies: To maintain their OWN positions on the Board, DESPITE the demonstrated will of the owners! (You can see details of recent elections at this link, and read much more about this problem at this link.)

We are offering a better alternative. If you choose not to participate directly in this year's election, PLEASE consider the merits of assigning your proxy to WM Owners, Inc. We are an organization of dedicated owners committed to Supporting Owner Advocacy, Promoting Education, Encouraging Open Communication, and Creating Community. In short, we exist to help owners and we encourage you to visit us online at WorldMark Owners Community.

HOW DO I SUBMIT A PROXY? For simple instructions, follow this link. There you will find directions on how to mark the ballot to assign a proxy agent other than the WorldMark BoD and how to cast a directed vote while assigning a proxy agent. There are links to examples. If you cannot find or do not have your election materials, you can select the last link on that page to get the WM Owners proxy form. Simply download it and fill it out (be sure to sign and date it!!!), then mail it to WM Proxies, PO Box 3694, Orange CA 92857-0694; fax it to 1-888-211-1548; or scan and email it to wmproxies@gmail.com. Questions can also be addressed to that same email.

WHAT IF I ALREADY SUBMITTED A PROXY FORM? The beautiful thing about a WorldMark proxy is that you always retain the power to change your mind. Any previous proxy assignment can be canceled by simply submitting a new proxy form with a later date! Last year, WorldMark made significant changes to the way proxy holders cast their votes, making it much more difficult for an individual proxy holder. Assigning your proxy to WM Owners can circumvent this change. So please submit a new proxy, regardless of whether or not you have previously done so.

WHAT IS THE TRUTH ABOUT THE BALLOT PROPOSAL? Simply put, we believe that this proposal is not at all about privacy. No owner has gotten the list, yet most owners have been contacted by outside companies regarding their WorldMark ownership. These intrusions do not happen at the hands of other owners, but by commercial enterprises who have somehow managed to get the owner list from WorldMark or Wyndham. Please read here for a more detailed explanation.

HOW WILL WM OWNERS VOTE MY PROXY? WM Owners plans to vote all proxies for candidate Marci Tribe. Marci is qualified and dedicated and has earned our full support. We know that she will work for the best interest of the owners and has no conflicts that will prevent her from making those decisions. WM Owners will vote AGAINST the proposal. Please see the "WHAT IS THE TRUTH" paragraph above for an explanation.

WHAT ELSE CAN I DO TO HELP PROTECT OUR CLUB? Help us spread the word! Our biggest obstacle is in reaching other owners.

    - Share this information with any other WorldMark owners you know. Encourage them to either cast their votes directly or assign their proxies to us. Give them our web address, WorldMark Owners Community.

    - Make a small donation to help us to reach other owners. We have started a direct mail effort to reach owners for whom we do not have email addresses, but it is costing us 60 cents per owner. There are almost 270,000 owners! Despite our rights to access the membership lists under California law and the Club's Bylaws, the Board is forcing us to do physical mailings through a third party mailing house. A recent Court ruling has determined that this Club practice is both "unreasonable" and "unlawful," so great progress is being made. But for now, this is our only option. Every $15 donated allows us to contact approximately 25 more owners. If you label your contribution "proxy drive," the funds will be used ONLY to pay for these mailings.

    Contributions can be sent to
WM Owners Inc., PO Box 3184, Salem, OR 97302
or by PayPal (credit cards accepted!) to contributions@wmowners.com

The purpose of this communication is to keep you, as an interested WorldMark owner, aware of and involved in the changes affecting your club. Thank you to all the WorldMark owners that have helped us reach out and touch other owners by providing us contact information. Another great example of what makes this club so great, owners helping owners! For more information on any of the issues mentioned in this message, visit us at WorldMark Owners Community.

WM Owners is not in any way responsible for, nor does it have any influence on the actions of WVO (Wyndham Vacation Ownership) or the WorldMark Board of Directors.
WorldMark Owners - Take back our club! |Email me at ts4ms@kapeesh.com as it is easier for me to respond than Private Messages. | Exchanges:Disney's Old Key West (Orlando), Four Seasons Aviara (Carlsbad, CA), Marriott Timber Lodge (Tahoe), Tahiti Resort & HGVC/Strip (Las Vegas), Wyndham Flagstaff, Star Island Resort (Kissimmee) & Pono Kai (Kauai). Marriott Newport Coast (CA)

It is good that owners are organizing to assert their rights. In any t/s vote, the key is to vote for real owners over developer stooges.

And it is clear from their thumbing their nose at the law on providing membership lists to owners, that the developers here are real slugs who need to be run out of control of the board.
