  • Adding More Wyndham Points Questions

We recently purchased 154,000 Wyndham points resale. We're in the process of closing. If we end up liking Wyndham really well and later on decide we want more Wyndham points, if we keep the same use year (October 1st), would we get to keep all the points under one membership account? Also, would we be charged another RCI membership fee if we added another points package?

    Thanks.

Each purchase has it's own contract number and can be placed in the same account under your member number no matter what the use year is. I believe the limit is 15 contracts under 1 account.

There would not be another RCI account. The important thing if you purchase more points is to make sure Wyndham has your membership number when the deed and transfer paperwork goes to title services.

Hope you're happy with your purchase. We have enjoyed all of our stays at Wyndham Resorts.

      Thanks for the quick reply.

We're really excited about the purchase. Smoky Mountains is where we bought and we and our kids love traveling there - it's only about a 7 hour drive. We also are excited about having access to Wyndham's resorts in Alexandria, Panama City, Destin, and Bonnet Creek in Orlando. We travel off season so hopefully some of those places are reasonably doable in value season at the 10 month window.

The online access with Wyndham sounds wonderful, too. That's something we've never had with our DVC points. We actually know of quite a few DVC members that have bought Wyndham resale points packages here lately.

We had a great stay at Bonnet Creek the first week of June. Got a 3br unit and had our 2 kids plus the grandkids for a week with the mouse. We hadn't been to WDW for 15 years so it was a great trip for everyone. We have a large point package so we could book the larger units and take family with us on vacations.

If you can travel during the value seasons, you can really stretch your points. I have not tried going thru RCI with small deposits yet but that can also be a great way to stretch points trading back into Wyndham resorts. We already have more points than we need so I have been renting out weeks to use the excess. There are lots of owners at the Wyndham Owners BBS that are doing the same. If you find you would like more points, you might want to consider booking resorts from other owners rather than buying more and being stuck with the maintenance fees. Really wish we would have done that. Many people are renting for less than what I pay in maintenance fees.

Some of these are available even in prime season at 10 month, I think you will be happy of your purchase.

You can add more contracts even if they have different use year.

At the forums at http://www.wyndhamowners.org/ there is a MF calculator which will show the dollar effect of adding more points to an existing ownership.

            You may find it useful.

Thanks you guys. I'm using a Macbook with Safari. I've got Iworks for Mac that I just bought for my Mac - would that let me use the maintenance fee calculator on the Wyndham forums site? If not, I could use my work PC which has Excel.
