70K Wyndham Studio Deposit - Can it pull 2 bedroom Gatlinburg Mid May?

I'm in the process of closing on some Smoky Mountain points. My tentative plan is to try to book a 1 bedroom at Bonnet Creek through Wyndham for late September with 84,000 points.

The remaining 70,000 I would like to deposit with RCI and try for a 2 bedroom in Gatlinburg for a May 22, 2010 check-in. That's not Memorial weekend - do you think I have a chance of doing this? If I don't, then I can just book a long weekend directly with Wyndham points.

It should, if base on demand side. But there may not have any supply (2BD). Especially look likes RCI has push a few to the rental side.

Do a search first deposit by calling VC. You may or may not get it.

Does it have to be Gatlinburg?
WYN Smokey Mtn is a great resort near there. Not as much traffic yet (May) between the two towns. 70k should pull a 2 bdrm there, but absolutely do search first. You may be a little late, but worth the try.

The 2BRs at Wyndham Smoky Mountain are already gone for May '10. There may be more deposited, perhaps in February or March, if the internal bookings are really slow.

Here are the 2BRs in May '10 in the general area. There might be a few more than this---this isn't with a top-shelf tiger, but rather a small step down. A 70K should see something here.

Maybe I'd be better off to book straight with Wyndham points for the May trip to Tennessee and try to exchange 70K with RCI for the Orlando trip in September.

Just as a reminder: you can't assume that visibles and generics trade the same way---generics are assigned an "average" trade power across deposits in the system, whereas visibles are backed by some specific deposit's trade power. They should be similar, but they aren't always the same.

Not seeing any Bonnet or HGVC units. There are however,plenty of gold and silver crown resorts,both 1 and 2 bedroom units.(orange lake,sheraton,silver lakes,vacation village,summer bay,etc).
