  • Changing points to mf

I went to an owner update this week at Bonnet Creek. I have heard the story several times how there is this person who has 38,000,000 points and that he uses one third for mf's. Is it possible to have enough points to cover all of your mf's? I did the math, but it does not seem like it would work. I thought perhaps if you had low enough mf's it MIGHT. Maybe that this person does have to end up paying out of pocket for some of his mf's. I did not ask at the update. I wish that I would have. Does anyone have any tips on the best way to do this? Is it possible to have enough points to pay for all your mf's? I would love to have feedback on this.

When you use this, points usage is surrendered at the rate of $2.10/K towards MF.

For it to be economic your MF's would have to less than that figure.

Since the average WYN MF is creeping toward the $5-6/K range, shall we just say, highly unlikely.

Most of the sales talk to the owners, they have no idea how it was done. They just spread the rumor.

I have one sales told me about that. His impression is I can deposit a stdio to RCI, get 2 BD in exchange. Split it into 2 deposit, and get 2 more 2 BD again, and rent them out.

I have anothe sales told me that Wyndham can take it and pay me handsomely. Of course, he has no idea that Wyndham only pay $2.1 per 1K.

In very ancient time, they will tell you, that as long as you intriduce your friends to do sale presentation, they will give you points, that will count toward your MF. So you don't need to pay any MF. The fact is, most of the time, unless you work for Wyndham, it will not get actually count, even if it count, it is very small portion. You will need to introduce the whole town of people to listen them, and at least 7% purchse them to get MF free.

A while ago, while transfer point is still able, you can rent from owners or Wyndham (when there is no restriction on how many points you can rent) with like $5 per 1K, and make reservation and rent it out yourself. With discount/update, you usually can get $10 per 1K. So you don't even have to rent out any of your points.

Now with renting cost to $8 per 1K in short time. and you can max out at double your points. The simple math is you will have to rent out at least 1/3 of your points in order to pay your MF. And that math works only for Plantimun. That has nothing todo with reality.

There is no such program. It is just saleman listen to some mega renters talking about their glory days. It certainly not something Wyndham can do for you.

In case someone does not have any idea about RCI exchange. 1) RCI does not allow you to deposit any exchange you got back or to any other exchange company, certainly not split and deposit. 2) RCI's own disclaimer still forbidden you to rent out any of exchange week you got from them.

Even redweek that allows you to rent out the exchanges you got, you will not be able to use this since they give valuations on the deposit you put close to their rental model. You maybe able to deposit high desired stdio and get 2 2BD, but does not mean you can recover any of the MF from renting all the 2BD you get.
