  • Advice pleeeeze, for Bonnet Creek.

    Hi guys,
I need some Wyndham pros advice pleeeeze.

I am going to Orlando for 3 nights Monday thru Thursday March 1 to 4 for 3 nights.

I have been following the points and see that it was taking 81,000 points but now I see it is 72,900 as the date gets closer at BC.

It is a dark green meaning many dates available, so what are the chances that the points required will go down more?

Have you guys seen them drop the points closer to check in? Keep in mind I bought resale so do I still get discounted points?

I'd hate to book it now for 72,900 and then it drops to 50K. I was thinking I might be able to get a 3 bedroom for the points of a 2 bedroom.

What do you think? The only other resort available in Wyndham is Cypress Palms but it has only "some" availability not good availability like BC. That one only requires 43,200 points. I'm not really gonna do Disney just visit relatives and maybe go to Holy Land experience so I don't really need to be onsite. Wanted to just go to Boardwalk and DTD but can do that without staying onsite.

How does Cypress Palms compare? I know it's older but is it nice?
We are 5 adults (2 of them are seniors). Are the rooms big? Comfy?
It's my Aunts 85th birthday so I want it to be nice. I don't know how much longer I have her with me. Does Cypress Palms have elevators?

I was hoping to be in the HGVC system by now and take them to Tuscany but not sure if I'll be in there before my trip as I've called and not yet on the books, so thinking to use Wyndham instead.

    Thanks for any help.

Not sure why that happened. I have never seen BC points change... occasionally WYN has a chart for discount on their site for specific resorts at a specific time. The figures indicate 10% off

if the resort is offering a discount, VIP would have nothing to do with it, so you should get discount offered

    that will not happen!

CP is nice and well cared for, but it is not modern like BC.

CP condo is actually larger, but both are fine room wise. BC has more WOW factor, the whole resort and grounds

    Does Cypress Palms have elevators

    YES

The room layout at BC for 2 bedroom is:
      king in master with bathroom
      2 double beds in 2nd
queen pull out sofa in living room

When the sofa bed is pulled out, there is not a lot of extra room to get around (to master or porch).

        Thanks Marge,

I doubt I'll use the couch bed. I'll just sleep with Mom.
She is used to my snoring.

I see the points as discount points. I can see the original point values but they are grayed out. I'm not sure when the discount the points. Is there a lead time on the days before they start discounting? Does it work like RCI's 7500 point deals? I know it doesn't go that low but how much do they discount "last minute" deals?

I just did a search on Wyndham for the same unit but check in on the 2nd of Feb which is tomorrow and it is not discounted. It is 67,800.

Why would that not be discounted. Are they confident that the room will get rented or exchanged at this late date?

I'm trying to Understand Wyndham logic.

They will rank the resort and season, if they think it is high, they will not discount it anyway.

For general discount, that is it, once they discount it, I have not see that figure changed.

Since VIP get discount at 60 days, so the discount for general public usually don't happen until it is within 60 days like maybe 49 days (Forget the exact days it happens), And it will not happen if there is not much supply left.

The president day week probably will not get discount.

Unlikely. Once we get into the "anyone gets a discount" period, that's usually it. I have seen the discount removed (once units are booked), but I don't think I've seen it increased.

It depends on the inventory available each week. The discount is not automatic. It is done only if there is sufficient inventory to move.

If you are logged in to the web site, this page gives you the current set of discounts (note that this link is not long-lived; the name changes periodically):

                  Thanks Brian and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

How do I get to that page again without the link once I'm logged in?

Under the home page, travel deal, select "Resort Specials"

All I see under that tab is hotel/motels and cruises. I went there by the home page, then travel deals & discounts, then I don't see a resorts page discount. What am I missing? Am I going thru the wrong travel deals tab?

You may want to click on left right button until you see that.

                          Oh, Okay, I found it.
I was using the tab at the top but it kept giving me hotels only.
I guess I need to play with the site more.
I'm still pretty newbie with Wyndham. Thanks.
