A month or so ago, Nashville was underwater from flooding. Wyndham's property isn't to far from the river, over by the Gaylord Opryland Hotel, Opryland Mall and the Grand Old Opry.

Hopefully the HOA was prepared with proper insurance or had put plenty of money aside in the cash reserve for just such an occurance.

The more likely scenario is that, to assist sales by keeping maintenance fees low, the Wyndham-controlled Homeowners Association did not fund any type of reserve for an event such as this, and flood insurance, assuming it was obtained, would have had the highest available deductible.

Nashville and middle TN had 13-15 inches of rain in a 24-30 hour period. A large amount of flash flooding by local creeks and rivers. The latest estimate that I have heard is way over 2 billon dollars in property damage.

I was told at a presentation that Wyndham/FF has never had a special assesment because it is run so well. This will be interesting to see what happens. shaggy

Update on the resort.. Reopen date is Sept 1, 2010

Wyndham Nashville Update as of July 20, 2010-

..............Over the course of the past two and half months, significant progress has been made at Wyndham Nashville resort to repair damage caused by the flooding in early May. As a result of the great partnership between Wyndham’s Resort Renovation and Design department, the resort’s board of directors, insurance providers, resort staff and our construction teams, restoration has progressed faster than expected and we anticipate welcoming Wyndham Nashville back into the CLUB WYNDHAM® Plus portfolio of resorts by September 1, 2010.

As we begin to reopen the resort, our priority is to personally contact and invite back to the resort those of you who had your vacations regrettably inconvenienced due to the unexpected closure, as well as those of you who call Wyndham Nashville your “home” resort. We are making every effort to ensure that the resort is ready for your arrival; however, please note that there may still be areas of the resort under repair or some amenities that may not be available during your stay, even after September 1. While the Nashville, Tennessee area is also well on the road to recovery, some local attractions have also been affected and may either not be open or have been temporarily relocated to other areas of the city.............
