  • Question on home resort preference window

It is my understanding that from 10-13 months out, owners have preference in booking their home resort.

My question is this: say I owned a small package at resort A that is insufficient to book a 2BR unit for a week in the season I would want to. I also own a larger package at resort B. Can I combine points from resort B and A to book a larger unit during A's preference window (something where I would not get enough points at A to book normally)?

    No.

Depending on your risk tolerance and circumstances you could attempt to book the higher demand time (usually Friday-Sat.) if have enough ARP points and fill in the lower demand time at ten months. Either side of the existing reservation.

There are few places and times where ARP is necessary, what location are you talking about.?

Unless your B resort package also gives you ARP right on A resort (some contract does write in that way). Otherwise, you can only get enough point at A if you buy another package deeded at resort A. You can not use credit pool points. Or borrow points.

But very few resorts need ARP.

Thinking about Bentley Brook in ski season. We live 3 hours away, and my in-laws live an hour away, and we like to go with them.

Thanks for the info. There's a BB contract for sale on eBay but only with 63k points (1 week, 1BR, Value time). That's not even enough for a Friday/Saturday reservation during High, much less Prime, time.
