We bought resale and it's all Wyndham. #1 Don't go to any owner updates. As soon as they find out your resale they treat you like dirt. Also they promise, they can do things with your resale points to make you a VIP. They can't. I have booked all my vacations online. Know when you can book. The farther ahead you book the better choices you have. We plan our vacations way ahead and then we book 10 months to the day we want. Also we have taken discounted points vacations that are on the web site. I get the same service as everyone else at the timeshare, but I saved a lot more money. Keep reading posts from other owners on this site. They have taught me so much about Wyndham and enjoy your points. We use all of ours and never let any go to waste. Good luck and good vacations to you.

Nice chunk of points. You need to find out how to best utilize them.

Besides the nice helpful people here you should register (free) for the Wyndham Owners Group. Tons of information, tips, rumors, etc. Enjoy!

Thanks for the info. We have been looking into buying for about 6 months so I have done so much research. We actually attended a Wyndham presentation and they gave us all the crap about not getting the VIP status and all the alleged downfalls of buying a resale. But for the money we saved it was well worth giving up a few things!

VIP today is a bad joke as to get it you pay 1000 times what it could ever be worth if it stayed at the current levels. In the past it has been reduced and there is nothing the poor buyers can do as it is a perk not a guaranteed part of the sale.

You did good going resale. You "gave up" virtually nothing.
