  • How hard is it to convert a weeks timeshare to points?

I'm currently a Wyndham points owner. If I buy a resale timeshare that is based on weeks, can I convert it to a points ownership? If yes, does anyone have any idea on the fees and effort associated with it?

Thanks in advance for any help and insight!

If you stay at a resort you can convert thru the sales office with another direct retail purchase of 10K - 12K with a cost of $189 for the conversion. However, the RETAIL purchase is definately NOT worth it when you can get Wyndham points basically for free or just for closing costs.

You can convert thru the coporate sales office for $2,395 for 1st week, $895 for additional weeks. Again, with the price of points on the resale market, I think you would be better off just buying points directly and not messing with converting a fixed week. Depending on the season of the fixed week, the point/maintenance fee ration often is not very good. HTH

Thanks for the info! Now, I understand why resales of points will sell for several hundred dollars, but the same property on weeks will sell for $1.

I'll stick to buying the points. I'd rather not go through the hassle of trying to convert to points.

Sorry, but I can't resist saying . . . it was really easy to convert from RCI Weeks to Points. We just did nothing.
