  • Shell vc.

Does anybody know anything about SHELL VC.
There is a resort, Carriage Hills or Ridge just over an hour drive from Toronto.
I love to go there for long weekends or PA days...with the kids.
Considering buying, RESALE!!!! I know the drill, but
resale does not get me the VC with SHELL..
only if it is bought from developer...
I can not afford that .
Is there a way to find a loopwhole....buying from real estate agent , maybe?

    Any info?
    Thank you,

I am unsure what you are asking. I bought shell hawaii club resale and I can book the carridge ridge/carriage hills resort.

The pcc's are practically giving them away on ebay.

The only restriction is I can't book until 9 months out, if it is your home resort it is 12 months.

Resale has nothing to do with it.

Resale Lifestyles and elite benefits do not transfer.

Just checked a random availability and here is what shows:

    2011-05-26 2011-05-30 One Bedroom 2600
    2011-05-26 2011-05-30 Studio 1850

I cannot see what "club" it belongs to but they are listed under the standard resort search

Are you trying to book through wyndham?

        Thank you,
I believe this is a resort that can be accessed thru Bluegreen Vacation Club as part of their Travelers Plus Program - "Select Connections" - you have to purchase a certain number of "authorized points" thru Pinnacle Vacations to get access to this but then can get additional points for next to nothing - contact Bocabum99 on this board to get more info.

The maint fee that u pay on the BG points is considerably less then what u would have to pay Shell directly to get the same resorts

"Select Connections for Traveler Plus Members

Select Connections is the joint venture between the Bluegreen Vacation Club and the Shell Vacation Club. Members of Traveler Plus who qualify for Select Connections can use their Bluegreen Points to book any of the available 18 Shell Vacation Club resorts in the program.

        · Select Connections transaction fees are reduced or waived for Select Connections transactions

        · Standard: $49, Bronze: $39, Silver: $29, Gold: $19, Platinum: FREE

        · Bronze, Silver and Gold owners must be active members of Traveler Plus and must have purchased/upgraded on/after July 1, 2006 to be eligible for Select Connections reservations

        · Select Connections reservations may be made eight months prior to check-in for stays of seven or more consecutive nights. Reservations of fewer than seven nights can be made up to three months prior to check-in. Reservations are first-come, first-served.

          Hi there,

I am probably one of the few people here that actually owns Shell. Being in Canada I also purchased the majority of my points for this resort.

As for the "Vacation Club" that is all I am in, after saving myself the $20,000 they wanted at a presentation. As somebody else mentioned the only thing that does not come buying resale is the elite and lifestyles programs.

GrayFal does make a good point that you can book shell through BG, however you have to have BG purchased through Pinnacle or the developer in order to get the Select Connections (which is part of Travellers) plus. If you buy BG resale you WILL NOT get access to this.

If you are interested PM me and we can talk more.

            Shell Sub-Forum???

Owners of Bluegreen, like owners of many other resort groups, have a sub-forum for discussion of matters pertaining to Bluegreen ownership and resorts. Unfortunately, owners of Shell resorts have not done the same. Is there any Shell owner interested in starting such a sub-forum? The Bluegreen sub-forum is open to all (not just Bluegreen owners) and I would hope the Shell sub-forum would also be open to all.

Would love to see a Shell Sub-Forum, but it would not have a lot of traffic.

It would be interested to see what other Shell owners think of what is going on. I for one am not all that happy, and am trying to get rid of some poitns.

And I am the opposite and find I am liking it more and more. I just bought more points.

I am seeing some great deals through II but haven't had a chance to grab one yet.

I purchased Shell Pacific on ebay for a 1$ and use it to trade in Carriage Hills at 9 months.

Availability is usually easy if you plan 3 to 5 months out.

You are more then welcome to some of mine! What club did you pick up?

There are some decent II deals in the flex change period, but outside of that it is just too expensive average $800 to $1000 for one and two bedrooms with exchange fees. I can get better deals with the Getaways then using my points. If the ongoing exchange requests I have match then I will be happy, but otherwise the 700 point deals with RCI were better.

I have the hawaii club. I have been seeing some maui studios for as little as 750 points....I never did use the rci benefit....they never seemed to have any last minute inventory.

I am also seeing more resorts and available weeks than my foxrun trader which historically has always done well through II so I have been impressed with the shell options so far.

It is too bad I did not post my Hawaii club points sooner although how many points you were looking for would be a factor. Did you by any chance pick them up with some 2012 points available and MF's for this year already paid? I must also assume that you are probably out on the west coast where they have more clubs. If I did as well, it probably would not be such an issue.
