  • How to rent out fixed week?

I am a newbie to Wyndham Timeshare. I have purchased a fixed week TS this year (week 27 / July 4th week this year) at Wyndham Mountains (Lake Lure). 2 BD Lock off. Finally, I have this fixed week in my Wyndham account now under FairShare Contracts with my UDI points at Wyndham Smoky Mountain.

Now my question is, I am not sure not if I can go there this year. if I want to rent out or let my friend/relative to use this week, what do I need to do? Do I need to print a Guest Certificate? Is it worthwhile to deposit to RCI now for 2011 week?

    Thanks in advance for help!!!

You call the resort, told them who you are, ask what is their requirement. Usually, after you told them who you are and what you own, than they will do some verification, and you can tell them your plan to have who and who to be there.

For fix week, there is no guest certification. You may need to give your relative a signed paper that has your week number, unit info, your name and address just in case there is some issue come when they try to check in. But usually a phone call will do.

As to deposit to RCI. RCI has some tools in their website that allows you to do some check on the resort's trading power, usually, it is not reliable, you should call the Wyndham-RCI direct phone line (1-800-572-0931 ). Tell them your resort/ week and unit, and ask them what is the trading power if you deposit it today. Set a number first that you are willing to accept and deposit it.

You need to call resort if you decide to deposit. Just to make sure all due are paid, and they will verify with RCI. First time usually take longer though, so if the trading power is still decent, you need to deposit it now.

      Thanks

Thank you Jya-Ning for your prompt help.

You and this website have been very helpful. Wyndham/RCI keep changing rules (RCI trading & deposit, owner points transfer, etc...). it is difficult to keep up, specially for us once a year usage type of owners.

        Hi Jya-Ning,

After listing for 3 weeks and no taker, I just called RCI and deposited my 2BD L/O (lowly 7 TP for each BD). I could not find TP calculator via Wyndham website redirected RCI website. Is this because of the RCI membership is via my UDI points at Wyndham? Is it possible to access the TP calculator. With only 7 + 7 TP, what do you think I could find any decent TS at all or should I let this deposit to expire?

        Thanks again...
