We own a floating week at Kona Hawaiian Resort, 2 bedroom, 2 bath unit. In speaking with Wyndham corporate sales, it would cost $2395 to transfer from a weeks to points system and would convert to 231,000 points. It would be beneficial for us to have the flexibility with points, so we're okay paying the exchange fee.
Here's the kicker, they said that we would need to make an minimum purchase of 63,000 points at $11,500 to perform this week-to-points conversion. Has anyone else experienced this? It seems like a total sales tactic to get me to make a purchase. How can I proceed with a conversion without purchasing additional points? Would it be better to buy my points on the resale market?
Any information would be helpful.
Thanks,
Sandy
