HELP! How do I cancel a developer purchse?

Hello my name is Clarence and yesterday 8-5-11 the wife and I purchased a 105,000 point unit at Fairfield Bay from a "sales agent" in Branson. Afer reading through all the comments I need help with how to specifically cancel this transaction. I have 5 days according to the contract but want to make sure I cancel this correctly. Can anyone help?

We like Wyndham and want to purchase through ebay or elsewhere to save about $14K. We live in Illinois.

When we signed up yesterday, they put the $14K + financing on a brand new Wyndham VISA card in our name. I wouldnt mind having the card but will sending a cancellation letter to the Wyndham Las Vegas office also cancel the new VISA? And will it remove the new/future charges on it?

Is there a phone number to speak with someone at Wyndham cancellations about these type of questions?

Can the right to cancel letter be as simple as writing "I want to cancel everything that I signed on 8-5-11" with the contract # listed on the paper and mailing it to the address they give:

Don't call, they are likely to put you off with tactics that put you past the rescission date. Send the letter to the address stated in your contract. If you want to play it safe, send it certified w/return receipt. It should be enough to state that you want to cancel/rescind the contract with the details you mention.

Rescinding the contract won't cancel the card, I would recommend you cancel the credit card yourself, too.

Usually in the boiler plate (small print) of the contract there is a rescission clause - read it and follow the instruction exactly.

If it says send by postal mail - do so, if it specifies FedEx - use FedEx. Avoid as much as possible giving them room to wiggle about the rescission.

If you are uncomfortable with it - pay a lawyer $250 to do it for you, it will still be waaaayyyy cheaper than buying from the developer.

Hi Clarence,
Please read the thread above. It tells you of a member who rescinded their Wyndham purchase.

I do not have an answer about the Wyndham credit card but do you REALLY need that? It is just another way of them to separate you from your money by not only charging you high interest on your loan but HOPING you also fall behind on your payments so they can collect high interest payments from you as well.
Talk about double dipping!
