Refresh my memory of FF and Wyndham history pls

In the timeshare business first there was Fairfield then it was renamed Wyndham? Who bought out who?

I was thinking I remembered FF bought Wyndham and renamed itself Wyndham, no?

Fairfield was formed by a small group for timeshare. Wyndham was formed as hotel by different group.

Another big business - Cedant that build itself up by buying business, who brought RCI than Fairfield around 2000. Eventually, it also brought Worldmark. Later on, the group brought the naming right of Wyndham around 2004, 2005. Because it believed the name represent a high-end.

Than the group believe its stock price was not reflect its true value because it has too many businesses under it, and people can not clear evaluate. So it split itself, and give the name Wyndham to its hotel, timeshare, renting/exchange business. It happened around 2007/2008. And since the split, Wyndham push its name to all the entities its owned.
