I am very surprised to see prime summer large units just hanging around in Wyndham. Guess the cachet is gone for Smuggs. Under valued in RCI and no one who owns Wyndham points wants to pay that much for them to avoid the 1-in-4..

Maybe everyone goes to Europe now since the exchange ratio is favorable. I believe I saw few US east coast beach deposit in RCI at summer.

Myrtel Beach Summer week

Myrtle hasn't been that hard ever since Ocean Blvd opened---as long as you are willing to pay the points to stay there. Westwinds and Sea Watch are still booked more or less solid in July.

Smuggs not up to speed yet.

My daughter stayed a Smuggs in October on a trip. We didn't know it was a Wyndham.. or had converted from RCI.

She said it was ok, but not up to usual Wyndham standards. Perhaps they will update the place.

Smuggs unit quality varies greatly by community/building. Some are absolutely lovely. I stayed in a gorgeous 3 bedroom this past summer, absolutely fabulous. October is off-season except for leaf-peepers so the usual resort activities and amenities are shut down for the most part. And some of the older buildings are indeed below Wyndham's usual.

I'm making sure my Deposit goes through, but right now i have a week on hold at Smuggs on August 26th on RCI(its only a 1br though and i prefer 2br+)...i mailed my credit card info to Wyndham for my MF, but i'm not sure if they'll get it before RCI calls to confirm

Location means a lot at Smuggs. The resort data base is down but I did a review of two stays at Smugg's one summer that were wildly different in accommodations.

One was an older "village" unit and one was at the top in a gorgeous new unit.

Yes we can help with unit selection, at least with RCI exchange. I am not at all sure which units WYN is vending.

earlier this week I was able to grab a week in a 2 bedroom Villa at Sea Watch for an August 4th check-in.

Yes, I gave up the August 5th at Westwinds to switch to Saturday the 4th at SeaWatch. I'm surprised it's still sitting there.
