  • Question about adding resale points to an existing VIP member..

I have a client looking at purchasing a million+ contract via resale. He already owns 1.6 million that were purchased from Wyndham. He doesn't want his new acquisition to impact his current VIP privileges for what he now owns.

Question: When making future reservations, how does Wyndham's online system differentiate between the two contracts for VIP status benefits?

Follow up: Is it simply safer to deed the new points in an LLC?

VIP is an account attribute not a contract attribute. (At least at this time - unless he is Presidential Reserve) He will be able to apply VIP benefits to all of the points in his account. IE: 50% discount at 60 days, upgrade etc. I don't think the extra points will increase his guest certificate count though. Only those points bought from developer will still aplly toward that ... I think (not sure on this).

The resale points will not have any negative effect on his VIP status when placed in the same account.

The VIP benefits will still apply to the 1million or so resale points because he is already a platinum owner.

(straight from VIP information) Eligible points are points associated with ownership interests purchased directly through WVR or its affiliates, Bonus Points and PIC Points.

Hey Sbkyoshi, since you work for Wyndham...

I've gotten different answer to this question from everyone i've talk to at Wyndham Corporate

If i own a fixed week, say week 51 at Kingsgate purchased resale and contact Wyndham corporate to pay the $2300(it is $2300 right?) to have that converted to 238,000 points, am i buying those points retail? or does it only matter how the underlying deed(is there an underlying deed with points?) was purchased?
