I'm just going to point out that "yourdave" signed up just now today, and this is his very first post, just to come by to give a price that would "make sense" for VIP, and asking the OP of this thread to chime in with about what it would cost.

I'll also point out that it appears that the OP may well work for Wyndham in some capacity, quite possibly in sales.

One might wonder whether or not yourdave and the OP are colluding with one another. One might further wonder if yourdave and the OP are in fact one and the same. Of course, these things might not be true, but caveat emptor, as they say...

      not really

I would really like to know what it would cost to become VIP. The guy who started the thread mentioned some really good deals that VIP members get. However, price is important to me. Like I said I might pay $15k to get VIP, but I'm not sure how close that would get me. From what I have read 300K is VIP. I would like to know what that would cost.

$220 per 1,000 is the going rate for Developer Wyndham points...for 300,000 thats $66,000 in most cases the average MF's are $5 per 1,000 so even after that $66,000 you'll be paying $1,500 a year for about 2-3 weeks of vacation

          wait

I just saw $220 per 1000 thats like $66k! It would be stupid to pay that much. I would like to hear from Wyndham how spending $66k is a good deal.

              I see

              Ride,
I see that and that answers my question. I looked up some of the first posters post from the past and he said he spent $20k for his membership. If his $20k doesn't get VIP how is that a good value. On ebay I could get 300k for under $1k. It seems to me that I can spend $20k and not be VIP or $1k and not be VIP leaving my $19k to pay yearly dues. I would like it he would come back and tell me how thats a good deal for me. If he comes back I'm willing to listen. But if spent $66k it would take me 40 years or more to break even. $66k+$1500(10) thats over $80k dollars for 10yrs of vacation if I could pay cash.

                Big Frank,

I wasn't joking, but I did'nt know these things cost so much. I've been doing some reading here and on TUGG so I was leaning toward re-sale. Then, after seeing all of the VIP benifits it did sound pretty good. But, not at that cost. I still find it hard to believe that $220 per 1k is an accurate price

The benefits sound good and obviously you know more about this than me. So, what do you think a fair price would be for those VIP benifits? Maybe I'm cheap, but I couldn't imagine spending that much. How many vacations could 300k get me the 50% discount?

If you honestly think that buying from a developer is good than enjoy it but I would not tell anyone on this forum that it is a good deal cause our members know much better than to buy from a developer.

                        Big Frank,

I said that I would not pay that much for VIP. I was actually asking ride with me what he would pay for VIP b/c he said that he someday planned to become VIP.

When in retirement, i'd like to move towards a "Full time Timesharing" lifestyle...at that point, i'll be selling the house and moving that money towards Points ownership....

So...Right now, No matter how cheap it is, VIP isn't worth it...but then, it'll be a whole different story....i'll be buying a lifestyle vs just a couple weeks a year

However, seeing what I can get if I buy from the developer makes it appear that developer points may be a good deal. The problem is that I can't find anything that says what a retail VIP membership would cost? I would be willing pay from $15 to $20k for VIP. That way I could save enough for it to pay for itself in 15 to 20yrs. From that point it would be all savings. I guess the question is what does a VIP membership cost? I'm not looking for an exact answer just an average. Maybe the person who started the thread could tell me what VIP would cost at their resort. Thanks!

New owners get a larger incentive than ANY other time you would buy. That's all I can put in writing as prices and discounts are subject to change based on your credit. We can speak in private about it, but I just can't post something like that on a public forum. Sorry!

What I CAN say is I spent 20k for 238,000pts. You can do the math from there.

One might wonder why I would post a meaningless thread asking about going straight to VIP as a new owner. Something that NOBODY does. Especially when I've already posted saying that utilizing the PIC program is the cheapest way to get VIP benefits.

I'm insulted, but I'm used to it on this forum by now.
