  • Reminder - reservations closed May 9th and 10th

They are moving the data center, so reservations (both phone and online) will be closed for the two days. It would probably be a good idea to take screenshots or print your reservations and points summary screen.

And it looks like the entire site is down this morning....

Actually, it looks like according to the last email newsletter the site outage was expected. I must have missed that part of it:
REMINDER: All CLUB WYNDHAM® service centers and the website will be closed May 9–10, 2012. We anticipate all services will return to full capacity on Friday, May 11, 2012.

Reports on other sites say that apparently they are going not going to be able to resume operations today, but will be extending any cancellation windows due to the outage.

I would love to know who their service provider is. I regularly and often moved very large data centers in my previous life. Their is a smart way to do it and the really stupid way. This is the really stupid way.

I am taking bets on not having access Monday either. The project management team on this one is inept.

The only thing I can think of is that they must be re-using quite a bit of their existing hardware so they couldn't test out the new installation prior to just moving the data. They had to wait for the physical stuff to be moved as well...

That has crossed my mind as well and it would be sheer madness just because of magnitude. You want to throw in a new data center. Throw in a DS3 or 10 and toss an allocator in front of it. This way you could retreat easily when it goes to hell; and never never during the week.

FWIW this also effects WM which is entering into prime summer booking for 2013.

              Very frustrating.

Well I lose that bet. The site is up at least WM is. WYN is not.

Wyndham's site came back up Saturday morning; everything looks OK as far as my account goes.
