Have you been told that you could cancel an existing reservation inside the Express Reservation window, then rebook the same room for a fraction of the points you originally used?
Sounds too good to be true. Well believe it or not, I just did it. I have some points I am investing in a rental at Bonnet Creek President's Day Weekend. I originally booked 4 days split into 2 two day reservations for 60,600 point each, total for four days 121,200 points.
Two weeks ago, roughly the 60 day mark, I called reservations, cancelled my original reservations, and with the help of the reservation clerk, rebooked the same 4 days into one bedroom units, that immediately I upgraded into two bedrooms, now my reservations cost 40,500 points. Quite a deal.
There are some cautions when using this system, but if you look at XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX REMOVED ad link, you can see exactly what I did, and the cautions you must take. Like, one, never cancel a reservation to get the same reservation for less points if you are not sure a unit is available. Good luck
