    Simple summary 2006 vs 2007

    There a more inventories in 2007. At May, it has a lot of buy it now with $10/k. This period (7/2007) does not see that any more. The success bid is almost 3 times of 2007's compare to 2006 the same time. The price is going down. The resort with any SA or potential get hammed. However, all ads that start with low and no reserved get bid and taken.

    For 2007 to 2008, I will enter 4 tracking periods (July, Oct, Jan, Apr).

        Comparsion between 10/2006 and 10/2007

        If use (bid price + closing cost)/total points
        2007 is avg around $11.96 per 1K (highest $24.61, lowest $3.93, standard deviation 5.00)
        2006 is avg around $17.59 per 1K (highest $28.75, lowest $8.99, standard deviation 4.80)

        While there are 59 item in eBay got acceptable bid (either no reserve or bid price is over reserve amount) in 2007, there are only 25 in eBay in 2006

        I believe at May 2007, there are a lot of lists from Post Card Company that use buy it now with the buy in price close to the Medium in Oct 2007 avg price.

                        Expressed as a ratio, the variation is more similar than you'd think by looking at only the raw numbers.

                          As said, if you look at ratio 2.9/11.05 is about 26%, and 5.31/15.92 is about 33%. The 2008 is only 7 days, 2007 is 10 days. Both are short period. Not a market analyst, so can not say for sure, but I don't believe they are long enough to say it indicates anything.

                          However, look like the price is down at this moment

                              I think I have noticed that the activity, number of things offered for sale, is down lately also, since about Oct. 07.

                              That seems to normally occur prior to Xmas, and then take some months to recover volume.

                              Seems to be at lower levels at this stage of the year though.

                              No quantitative measurement, just a general impression.

                                Probably will not pass any test.

                                With recession around, I will guess buyer is down also. I did notice at 2007, the vloumn looks extreme high.

                                Will be interesting to see when the tide turn.
