Wyndham offers everything

We can get a 315k point increase on our VIP Silver 455k points to VIP Gold 770k points.

We would gain Wyndham ACCESS plus be allowed to have family use the account. We would have ten guest certificates per year for free.

Wyndham would take three of our holdings as trade on the deal. There would no longer be maintenance fees or assessments on them. No more Florida taxes ether. For some reason they don't want our Fairfield Bay as trade. I wonder why?

They want $46553 for all this. That's only $148 per thousand.
The guy claims it's a big discount from $220 per 1000.
(WOW, and here I've been giving away weeks or charging $6 per 1000 points for rentals.)

He claims Wyndham will buy back points if we can't use them all. Also, we can allow Wyndham to rent them out for us and they will pay toward our maint. fees or send us a check, whichever we desired.

What advantages are there for having Wyndham Access? (Something about being able to book reservation 13 months out at their 52 resorts.) Doesn't there have to be inventory available to book?... like there's no guarantees, right?

How about their PERKS program? We'd qualify for that also. Do we really have to spend $46000 to get discounted hotels, rentals, flights, etc?

Robert, stop. Do not pass go. Do not spend $46,000. You've been around the block long enough to know that a Wyndham presentation is, at best, full of half-truths. If I recall correctly, you are already in a situation in which you have to rent out some of your annual allocation. Why on earth would you want more?

This is not a good deal for you and your wife and family. You have trouble using the points you have.

I know they make all the bells and whistles sound great but do u really have use for them.

As bnoble stated, the last two years you have been frantically renting and giving away points at years end. Just say no.

They can change the benefits at any time. I've read many posts about how people used to get free guest certificates and now they don't, among other things. They will always change their benefits in order to make people buy more.

I think the new access points do come with an exit strategy.
Since they aren't tied to a deed anymore if you stop paying there is no deed to foreclose on so they get to resell your points again to the next sucker. This sounds like a solution for both sides now.

I was informing everyone of the offer made while we were at Wyn Smoky Mountains.

1) Does anyone get Wyn to buy back points if you can't use them all?

2) Wyndham to rent out points and pay maint. fees?

3) Wyndham Access: Does anyone find Wyn resorts where the reservation calendar doesn't stretch out for 13 months? Do you call a REP to find out if there's availability?

4) The PERKS program: Does anyone use this? Can it be used only after buying more Wyn Points?
