  • Resale Processing Time Question

I recently purchased a Fairfield resale through the Holidaygroup. Does anyone have an idea as to how long it takes to get everything transferred so I can use the points?

It looks to me like I will not have a very large window to use the 2006 points which will expire on Dec 31st.

    Thanks,
    Dale

    I always use
    Angel England, Timeshare Sales
Resort Property Mktg. Int'l. Real Estate, Inc.
    1-800-844-8404 /angelb@ozarkisp.net

when buying, selling or trasnferring Fairfield properties. Once everything is agreed on, it doesn't take long but I am sure Holiday should be able to tell you how long it will take and if they are not handling the transfer then the transfer agent can.

I have bought 2 timeshares through Holiday group and the closing/transfer has only taken 4-6 wks. But it is probably dependent on how long it takes the city to record the deed and the resort to transfer the deed to your name.
I was looking at one of the timeshares on Holiday recently and it stated to expect 6-8 months for transfer on the particular resort.

if you call the person that handled the sale, they will let you know where in the process they are and should give you a time approximate on arrival of your deed.

They have always been very good with customer service.

After they get the deed prepared, they send to the local governemnt to get it recorded, it usually depends on the local government, some quick one takes about 3 to 6 week. Some local government is even slow. Then, they send to FF, which may take 2 to 4 weeks to setup your account. Sometime, if there is unpaid balance, it will be slower. Then if this is your 1st FF, they(FF) will send to RCI or II to create a new account for you. And most of the process are going through US Post mail.

Look like you will have to deposit them into RCI for this year.

Thanks for the info. I contacted Holiday Group and they can make reservations for me during the transfer period. It will however, be a final transaction and is not refundable. So I may end up doing the RCI deposit for this year.

            Dale:

Although you probably will get the contract all set up in the later half of the year, it does not mean you will not get a good vacation or two out from it using FF internal exchange. I have one that completed in Oct, and I use some of the points to Atlantic City and deposit the rest to RCI. Usually, they will have some discount close to the end of year also. So after your account set up, you may want to login to their website and see if there are some discount deal.

As to deposit to RCI (assume that is your contract leads you), try deposit either the blue stdio or red one. You got a chance to explore the external exchange world. But you can wait till Nov, Dec if your points expired at 12/31

              Thanks Jya-Ning,
I think I will set tight and wait for things to shake out. I should have my deed and membership by October.
