  • WYN Branson Resorts

Going to a wedding this summer in northern AR. Have never been to Branson, so thought we should check it out. Has anyone been to any of the Wyndham's there? Any one better than another? Why do you feel that way?
    Appreciate your opinions!

The Meadows is the main location, and the center of activities. Mountain Vista is m/l across the road (165 HWY). It has it's own pool. Both of these locations are Mega-resorts, huge.

The third location at the Fountains is smaller, isolated, but still nice.

I have been in units in all three, and they are all nice. I was in a 3-bedroom at Mountain Vista, and it was exceptional.

We used to provide a grocery service for them, and I know people who work there.

If you and your group needs golf, let me know.

We have a houseguest with us here in Florida and she was to fly back to her home in Northern, AR (Harrison) today, but decided against it because of the weather.

I stayed at Mountain Vista. It was nice.
I think it's newer than the Meadows.
It shares amenities with the Meadows you even check in at the Meadows for Mountain Vista.

        Thank you Chriskre and JLB!

JLB: My husband usually IS looking for golf, but recently had surgery in both shoulders. Probably won't be ready by then...

I was there 4 years ago so things may have changed since then.
JLB lives there so he'd know the state of the resorts best.

I will say don't stay in Holiday Hills if you have trouble with stairs.
It's not a Wyndham but does have a golf course in case hubby heals up.
It's on the other side of town from Mountain Vista.
We stayed there also on our trip to Branson.
            I preferred Mountain Vista.

Lots of nice resorts in Branson if you decide to stay other than Wyndham.
Big Cedar is a little further from town but makes for a beautiful stay.
It's really probably the best Branson has to offer.

One of the guys in my regular golf group is a Concierge at Fairham . Unless things have changed, everyone checks in at the Meadows. You pull in and it's the building straight ahead.

I've known his son for longer than I've known him, cuz his son used to be the asst. pro at another course, where I'm a member. He plays with our group when he can get off. He works in timeshares, too.

It's 3 degrees there right now, with a layer of ice and snow on the ground, and they want me back to work in a week. bummer

Meadows and Vista are at the same level - nice. The Falls is a couple of notches below. The rooms at the Falls are ok and it's a little closer to town. We stayed at the Falls twice and we weren't impressed compared to the other two.

60's last week though. Just never know what you're going to get in Feb/Mar.

Thank you all. Won't have to worry about cold... going in July! As long as I have this group of collective experience, what shows or things in the area are not to be missed? Is there a discount ticket supplier, or best to deal with the venue?

                        http://www.1branson.com/forum/

With over 100 shows and attractions, I stopped long ago suggesting what is best. But, there's plenty of folks on that forum who will tell you what to like and how to be. 7 degrees there right now, so they may be a little cranky.

                        But . . . SIX . . . google them.

Here's what I meant by SIX:

                            http://www.thesixshow.com/

I'm pretty sure a selection of shows will come to the resort, each do a number, and then offer deals. You might check with the resort.

In the old days, Pre-TS4Ms, DW & I would attend those with folks from another forum. We could meet, chat, get entertained, and a decent little catered dinner. We did that at many of the resorts, with people like Rapmarkses, Topeka Tom, Mr. and Mrs. Libraria, and others.

I also met with/lunched with several at Big Cedar, and others we just went out on the ***Boat, as long as they brought me fried chicken and Bud Light. We'd have people pull up in the driveway, get out, stared at me, and say stuff like, "Just wanted to see what kinda guy would invite complete strangers out for boat ride."

We've stayed in Branson a few times. Prefer Mountain Vista. You check in across the road, then go to your resort. It's smaller and quieter, but closer than Big Cedar to what Branson has to offer.
