    Tom,

If your Flagstaff weeks work like my converted fixed weeks in Newport, then you can ARP for those specific weeks UP TO 10 months prior. You have sole exclusive rights to that unit in that week from 13 months prior to 10 months prior.

I had a similar situation where I called up to ARP my July Newport 2007 week 28, and the counselor told me someone else had taken it.

I had the matter escalated and discovered that I had rights to that week.

In the worst case scenario, even if someone else reserves the week, you have the right to call up and request it and Fairfield must boot the "squatter".

In my case there was another unit the "squatter" was transferred to. But has the resort been filled, Fairfield takes the heat and does what it can to accomodate the other guy.

I have the phone number of a specific person at Fairfield in the "Office of the President" who helped me with this. PM me if you want the direct dial number.

    Fred

P.S. It is always possible different resorts negotiate different deals with Fairfield, but I think a careful reading of the new Directory indicates that what I am saying is correct across the board in all resorts.

        Tom,

Prior to July 15, 2006, FF owners could ARP their FF resort and request FF to then deposit the week into RCI as an online searchable week. As of July 15, 2006, FF has made clear that FF UDI owners would no longer be able to ARP and deposit the week into RCI as the online searchable week.

Since you own a converted fixed week, there has been discussion on the Yahoo Fairfield group that you [U]should[U] be able to ARP your fixed week and request that week be deposited into RCI as an online searchable week. At this point, I have not seen any posts here or on the Yahoo group of anyone trying to do that.

A couple of questions. Do you have your fixed week as a registered fixed deposit week with RCI now? Do you have your RCI account set up by FF?

One of the long time FF owners on Yahoo group suggests that if you have your fixed week as a registered deposit week with RCI, that you ARP the week and then go to RCI yourself and deposit it. It sounds like this should work but I would make sure that I have the confirmation in hand that confirms that I have use of that week and unit.

If you don't have your fixed week registered as a deposit week in RCI, then you will have to ask FF to deposit the week when you ARP the week and unit. You may have to ask to speak to a supervisor and explain that you own a converted fixed week, not an UDI week and that you should be able to deposit that week with RCI.

Whatever you do, please let us know the response or results.
