  • Going Ballistic about FF!

Can anyone tell me who the president or other senior executive that I can email or send a note to? I have just had the run around with 3 reservations and 4 contracts/legal people trying to book a week on a unit that I bought resale more than 5 months ago. All the paperwork from the closing company finished more than 2 months ago and the reservations folks are saying I don't have the week. It's still under the previous owner's name. I talk with Contracts and they say it's all good, my name's on the system. I got transferred 6 times, got disconnected twice and am just losing it

I want to go to the top and anything less will not be satisfactory!

Sheesh....what a nightmare situation.....I realize how frustrated you must be.

I hope it works out soon, so that you can start to enjoy your timeshare.....hang in there.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

Please share that address with us so if anyone else has problems they won't have to go through what you did to get it.

Jya-Ning, it's a floating week, not points. I had used Backporch TS Closings on this one and they had a devil getting this processed while the other one was done by TS Closings and it went through like a hot knife through butter. Suffice it to say the one through Backporch is the one that is screwed up.

Winger, I was told the email address is: david.pontius@fairfieldresorts.com. I sure hope it is because my account information is in the email. I'll definitely keep others posted on this wonderful saga!

I don't like to commit a lot into TS, and I don't think TS is a good place to make income (it has upper bound, you can not rent more than hotel charge). So I have very limit experience to deal with purchase. With UDI back me up, my only experience is with fixed week, so my experience may not help you too much with floating week. But for whatever it worth.

I found there are two types of closing in TS when I bought resell, one stop at giving you deed, the closing company will just send the resort the new deed and the transfer fee, and that is it. The other will make sure the resort transfer the account to you also. At this moment, I aslo believe FF's system is build on top of an account number.

One of the fixed week TS I purchased is in Oct, I got the deed at Nov. So far so good. At Jan, I have not get any billing, so I call FF's title dept
1-800-225-3522. They will require you to give them the account number. Which I don't have. To make things worse, I purchase the TS using my family trust, so I can not sure if when they do a search, if they can not find the week what it actually means. But I did have the old owner's name and their account number, so they could find out that info. Then they told me, "no, the week and unit I give them is not belong to that person". I call back to my resell agent, and re-get the old account number, then found out, the week was owned by parent that transfered to the son and DIL, the deed was proper transfered in the local county, but not in FF. Since it is within the family, the resort never bother by this, the main office has no idea it was transfered. So I call the resell agent again, get all the papers that shows the parent, the transfer to the son, and the transfer to my family trust. Then faxed to FF. Then I found out they did owe HOA MF which I know is the case, since I already checked with HOA and knew this is a week they foreclosure, I let the title dept know, and they said they have to wait until the Las Vagas depart ( 1-800-647-8001 option 3 Billing dept) to clear it, but they now had all the proper doc, they will be able to handle it. In a very short time, it resolved, they gave me a new account number.

Do you make reservation through 1-800-633-4339? If you get the new account number, you can let them know, then they can look up to you. If you have old account number, I would probably call back to title dept to get the new account number. If they can not give me that, I will try to figure out why, and try to fill the missing paper by calling the closing company or resell agent.

Also, try to find out the phone number of the resort, you may need them.

I can image floating week is more problematic, but if you have old contract number (which you should have for your due diligent), it helps.

I usually found their VC, title dept are very willing to help. But keep in mind, sometime, they may try to sell you something though, and sometime, they just have not proper trained and have no idea what they are doing. But you should always be able to get one that is good at what they do.

                  Good luck

                  Jya-Ning

(ps. the phone number I list is for fixed week, for FSP week, try 800-251-8736 for reservation and title)
