How do I activate my RCI memebrship?

Hi!
We are awaiting our 1st TS deed - a Fairfield Glade 105K.
It's taking longer than promised so I'm trying to use my waiting time efficiently rather than being stressed.

What are the steps needed to get the RCI membership activated as a FF owner ? Again I have no previous TS experience. Are there any steps I could take or any documents I could prepare beforehand so I can expedite the process once the deed is in my impatient hands?

I hope it's ok but I am going to post this one on the other Fairfield Forum as well. I also posted this question on TUG in the Ask RCI forum.

FF will set that up for you since this is your first FF.

I believe these are the steps
1. they create a deed
2. They got notified deed from seller
3. they recorded it to local government where the resort located.
4. the get the recorded deed and send to FF
5. FF will move the contract to you since you are 1st time owner, FF will create a new account for you
6. FF will notice RCI since you are 1st time FF owner to setup an RCI account for you.


Not much you can do. Most process is done through mail. So ...

If you go through a resell agent, check if they get the deed recorded. If they already send to FF, you may check to see if you get a FF account, more likely, they just transfer the old account to you. You can call FF to see if they can find you through your name and address or just use the old account. Sometimes, if there is something in the old contract (like an unpaid balance, it may hold longer. It especially will happen if your contract is from HOA (POA) forclosure

You will get a mail from the agent or FF to say all done when FF complete and welcome you.

Just to relate my own experience with my first FF resale purchase. Once the deed is recorded, your closing company show send a copy of the recorded deed to FF along with $100. FF will set up your initial account. FF will send you a TOA (Transfer of Authorization) form and a RCI application for a new account. When you receive these, fill them out, provide missing information, and send them back asap.

Once FF receives them, it takes about 3 to 4 weeks to get your FF account actually set up. On the TOA form, your membership number will be disclosed. You can write that down and register to get online at FF's website.

As for RCI, once your account is set up with FF, it will send the paperwork to RCI. It took 8 weeks for my RCI account to be set up. I started calling about week 4 and followed up.

Patience, you need patience. Future purchases are much easier.
