It shouldn't affect you much. The HOA for the fixed weeks will remain until most owners convert to one of the new multi-site timesharing plans.

After a while, the fixed weeks may dwindle in number and therefore lose economies of scale in operations. That could result in higher than expected maintenance fees. But, it's not guaranteed that that will happen. Just saying its possible.

It's likely that there will be some form up upgrade option made available to fixed week owners as always.

And on top of all this, NO ONE is asking about the poor step-child of Wyndham, Peppertree and Equivest. Both these TS companies were bought and then discarded by FF.

PAHIO, I hope that isn't what wyndham has in mind for you.

IMHO, PAHIO has a developer now, so it will have new inventories and can bring in new money. Equivest, and PSE program, unfortunately has no deveoper, so if it does not worth convert, it will be hang there for a while.

Cindy: from what I read WM is working great in II. However, since newer resort will go to RCI, it may hurt in the long run. If any indication from FF, the FF RCI point part is not transferable through resell. As to conversion, FF does count week by week if it is into its system, but one fix price for all week(s) into RCI point if you purchase the week that is in their system.

IMHO, for existing owner, it will be depended on how Wyndham think their standard will be. Although I don't mind change, I would perfer the money spend worth its value. Will see if they want to compete as 1st class, they need 1st change their attitude to behavor like 1st class.

I have no idea what will be the relationship between the existing Wyndham hotel and timeshare entity (not FF and WM) and WYN. I believe they belong to viva Wyndham. CD only bought naming right of Wyndham. It looks kind of messy

I hate to think that PAHIO could be a forgotten entity for Wyndham. Certainly our HOA boards needs to consist of owners and not developers. How do HOA's evolve in a system like Fairfield, where the developer keeps control forever and ever?

As long as we can maintain Gold Crown status, I think we can still be happy with our purchases. You never know.

Jya-Ning, I would love to have RCI points but we bought all of our PAHIO's as resales, which did not allow the transfer of points with our weeks. I was hoping that we could get involved with a points system, but I doubt that Fairfield will convert our weeks without a new sale. I will lose my respect for Fairfield completely if they hassle us as current owners, simply because we are resales.

If you go to one of their sale pitch even once, you will for sure loss your respect. But if you just use their other part (reservation, management, VC) it is yet to happen.

Don't know about HOA part, because I do read FF try to steal HOA out. On the other hand, I think there are enough FF HOA who has non FF employee on the board (not sure how many has board compsed by all non-FF employee). IMHO there a good percentage of owners that can in-line with FF, so really to have an all FF employee board is not that important.

So my Bluebeard's BeachClub which was an Equivest Property that is now know as Fairfield St Thomas at Bluebeard's BeachClub
will soon be a Wyndham Property???
Fairfield is currently selling points there and attempting to 'pursuade' the fixed week and floating weeks owners to convert for a 'small fee'...I wonder what is next!

They will pick 20-30 properties that will form the basis of that offering. The inventory will be set aside just for Wyndham VO owners just like the 11th and 14th floor of Ocean Walk is for WorldMark owners. And, the Pahio resorts will be included in it.
                Boca:

I thought this a little. If CD is any indication, they like to buy estatblished companies, and let it continues to run. The underline support team will be jointing force, but it seldomly try to put together or develope a new product. And to put together two or 3 different products together is a slow and painful experience. If there is any indication, Equivest is very good learning experience.

To just add some new level or to restrict certain transfer of TS to point type deal if it is resell (Marriott's type deal) in an existing system is much easier. The problem to add a new level is what can you give without come from the pocket.
