Wyndham = Fairfield, WorldMark, Pahio, Equivest, & RCIM?

Should our forums be combined or kept separate for FF and WM seeing that they are under the Wyndham Worldwide corporate umbrella now?

Do the systems overlap beyond management? Just asking. I do not know enough about them.

Wyndham talks about Trendwest and not WM on their website.

Pahio is now also part of this group as well as Equivest.

RCI Management is now under the Wyndham umbrella as well and when I call they are Wyndham employees.

    Wyndham Worldwide: Company Profile

As one of the world’s largest hospitality companies, Wyndham Worldwide offers individual consumers and business-to-business customers a broad suite of hospitality products and services across various accommodation alternatives and price ranges through our premier portfolio of world-renowned brands. With more than 20 brands, which include Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, Ramada, Days Inn, Super 8, TripRewards, RCI, Landal GreenParks, English Country Cottages, Novasol, Fairfield and Trendwest, we have built a significant presence in most major hospitality markets in the United States and throughout the rest of the world.

We operate primarily in the lodging, vacation exchange and rental, and vacation ownership segments of the hospitality industry:

    Through our lodging business, we franchise hotels in the upscale, middle and economy segments of the lodging industry and provide property management services to owners of upscale branded hotels;
Through our vacation exchange and rental business, we provide vacation exchange products and services to owners of intervals of vacation ownership interests, and we market vacation rental properties primarily on behalf of independent owners; and
Through our vacation ownership business, we market and sell vacation ownership interests to individual consumers, provide consumer financing in connection with the sale of vacation ownership interests and provide property management services at resorts.
Each of our lodging, vacation exchange and rental and vacation ownership businesses has a long operating history. Our lodging business began operations in 1990 with the acquisition of the Howard Johnson and Ramada brands, each of which opened its first hotel in 1954. RCI, the best known brand in our vacation exchange and rental business, was established more than 30 years ago, and our vacation ownership brands, Fairfield and Trendwest, began vacation ownership operations in 1980 and 1989, respectively.

We provide directly to individual consumers our high quality products and services, including the various accommodations we market, such as hotels, vacation resorts, villas and cottages, and products we offer, such as vacation ownership interests. We also provide valuable products and services to our business-to-business customers, such as franchisees, affiliated resort developers and prospective developers. These products and services include marketing and central reservation systems, back office services and loyalty programs.

Wyndham Worldwide strives to provide value-added products and services that are intended both to enhance the travel experience of the individual consumer and to drive revenue to our business-to-business customers. The depth and breadth of our businesses across different segments of the hospitality industry provide us with the opportunity to expand our relationships with our existing individual consumers and business-to-business customers in one or more segments of our business by offering them additional or alternative products and services from our other segments. Through our three business segments, Wyndham Worldwide is well positioned to compete in the major hospitality segments of this large and growing industry.

Are Wyndham employess always so abrupt? I called today about a PSE exchange, was given the website and my info to access. < The website is useless BTW> Accurately told I had to wait until the in-house exchange period.

But the young lady was so brusque!

I am not used to that from PSE no matter who they are this week!

As to folding everything into one; my gut says hold off for a bit.

I ran into the same thing. And when I asked if they were RCIM and now Wyndham the woman argued with me and kept telling me they were Wyndham and had nothing to do with RCIM. I didn't bother continuing the discussion.

Wyndham Vacation Resorts is the new name for the Fairfield brand. It appears that the Pahio resorts are part of this group of Wyndham.

              TW and FF are developers.

FSP, RCIM. PSE, PAHIO, EQUIVEST, WM, FAX are different programs they developed / Purchased for attract people to buy their resorts or to get access to a area develope project. And some has management branches that manage the resorts. None of that was mentioned. They probably think these are charity entities.

Most programs are different and not really mixed well. Although in theory, anyone can be merged with other, in reality, it does require owner's approvals, and may never happen. So more likely is they developer a conversion program to allow old owner convert their ownership to another program. These probably does not preceived well.

FF FSP is most controlled program by them, since owner's interval is automatically assigned to them to enjoy, and they currently has 100% control over the FSP trustee. Although WM's board is elcted by all owners, they still has a big say, and all inventories are under that entity, so that is the 2nd best. Don't know Equivest Club situation. Other Fix week base ownership they have much less control even if they controls the HOA(POA) board.

The systems are different. And may get sold in a second. Suggest still keep them seperated.

Employees are probably just as confused as the public, and they are probably also tense wondering if their jobs are safe. Maybe that's why they seem brusque on the phone...hopefully with time they'll relax more and give better customer service.

Wyndham = High end Hotel brand with a Days Inn product. (by the way, this is not a knock. They actually own the Days Inn brand, too.)

They've got a LONG way to go before they can compete with Marriott, Hyatt, Starwood or Hilton on product quality.

Some specific resorts make it, but the vast majority don't.
