  • How to deposit points to RCI?

I hope someone can explain to me about banking with RCI. I've been reading as much as I can about getting as much as you can with the points you own. My questions are,
1.) if I own 115K points and I want to bank only 70K points with RCI, can I do that?
2.) Also, what happens to the 45K points that's left over? Can I still use that with FF for short stays at their resorts or do I lose that for not banking it with RCI?
3.) Can I bank both 70K and 28K with RCI at the same time?
4.) Can I use the 17K left over for weekend stays at certain resorts?
5.) If I can get an exchange for both of the 70K and 28K bankings, is it a separate exchange fee for each?

    Thanks a lot!

1.) if I own 115K points and I want to bank only 70K points with RCI, can I do that? Yes,call Fairfield/Wyndham @1-800-251-8736 or use the Fairfield website. Decide if you want a visible deposit and if it's available
2.) Also, what happens to the 45K points that's left over? Can I still use that with FF for short stays at their resorts or do I lose that for not banking it with RCI? Yes, you can use those points as you wish, up until the expiration/use year end date of the points
3.) Can I bank both 70K and 28K with RCI at the same time? Yes, since you only have one free reservation transaction at no additional cost, deciding on doing both transactions at once, will save you the add'l fee.
4.) Can I use the 17K left over for weekend stays at certain resorts? Yes
5.) If I can get an exchange for both of the 70K and 28K bankings, is it a separate exchange fee for each? each exchange is a separate fee once you have found and confirmed your exchange.

For HI, 70k you will have chance. 28k you will have depended on bulk space bank or last min deposit. Although RCI says at 45 days all deposit are equal, you will not see any HI available room until maybe 14 days.

You may want consider rent some points from Yahoo owner and deposit all at once.

1.) if I own 115K points and I want to bank only 70K points with RCI, can I do that? YOU DO NOT EVER OWN ANY POINTS UNTIL RCI ALLOWS YOU TO HAVE THEM BY DEPOSITING YOUR WEEK (OR WEEKS). YOUR QUESTION DOES NOT MAKE ANY SENSE TO ME BECAUSE EACH "WEEK" HAS A SPECIFIC VALUE.
2.) Also, what happens to the 45K points that's left over? Can I still use that with FF for short stays at their resorts or do I lose that for not banking it with RCI? THERE IS NO ELATIONSHIP BETWEEN RCI POINTS AND FF POINTS. A RESORT CAN BE BOTH (RCI FOR 3 YEARS - PERIOD)

Although there is no relationship between FF points and RCI points, a few point type resorts do allow you to deposit to RCI through a grid. In FF's case, if you give FF your 70k, FF will give you a red stdio equivalent week deposit to RCI or a worth of 1 wk's value that allow you to get one stdio week from RCI point inventory.

Just like RCI points, if Mutual use 70k to get a RCI week, she can still use reminder points.

If Mutual has Plus Partnership, it may be easier try to call VC and get 2 week there

This is a discussion about Fairfield point deposits to RCI weeks, it is not about RCI ponts.

Fairfield owners have a free RCI "weeks" membership (really the membership fee is buried in the maintenance fees, want it or not, sustainable ongoing/growing customer base for RCI ). The FF owner can give up the required number of points to obtain an RCI deposited week.

RCI Red 70,000 (studio week) 105,000 (1 bed week) 154,000 (2 Bed week) 254,000 (3 bed or more)
            RCI White 42,000...................77,000................... 126,000...................189,000
            RCI Blue 28,000.....................63,000................. ....77,000...................154,000

When the FF owner "gives up" some of their points for the RCI week (to fairfield not RCI) FF will then turn around and make a deposit of FF weeks to RCI (the actual mechanics of transactions between FF and RCI is too involved & not for discussion here). The "type" of week is dependant upon the FF owner. If the FF owner wants to be able to do an online search at the RCI web site, using the week deposited to their RCI account by FF, then FF will do what is called a "visible" deposit (limited availabilty of these from FF). If the FF owner does not need/want the web search capability (say they will be using an RCI ongoing search) then FF will do what is called an "invisible" deposit. (the RCI term for the invisible deposit is called a "comp exchange" and will show this way in the FF owner's RCI weeks account). Use of a "comp week" requires the assistance of an RCI Vaction Counselor.

Many FF owners report that the invisible deposit, while requiring the use of a VC, has much better pulling power than do the visible deposits. Pulling power combined with cheap points (low resale purchase price of locations with low maintenance fees) has allowed FF owners low cost stays at primo locations, inside & outside the FF family of resorts. (It is not uncommon for 70K or 105K to pull a two bedroom red in good locations (bulk spacebanking helps. It may be that color is more important than size).
