In October I went to the FF sales pitch in Kona, and the salesguy had glossy TPI literature which he opened up, and used the TPI-exchange option as a selling point. I wondered whether FF/Wyndham/RCI and TPI had struck a deal, because I reckon these salespeople wouldn't do that without corporate approval.

I could ask. I would think they had as I see quite a few Wynfield deposits on-line at TPI including Waikiki Beach Walk.

If you purchase FF Hawaii Resort, you get the 1st year TPI membership fee paid, and it is one of the official exchange company (RCI and II is the other two).

When we were at the Wyndham Sales Center in Kona last summer they were pitching TPI pretty heavily during the sales spiel.
“Maybe you shouldn't dress like that.”

“This is a blouse and skirt. I don't know what you're talking about.”

          “You shouldn't wear that body.”

            Re Kona WVO/FF and TPI

Any purchaser of a WVO Hawaii property becomes a member of the Outrigger Club and one of those privileges is exchange through TPI. As mentioned previously anyone can exchange through TPI simply by booking a week and then contacting TPI. At this point there appear to be no difference or advantage to the outrigger club. However, in my experience the TPI info flashed at Kona was NOT for TPI but was for TPI Premier Resort Access.

This difference was never made apparent to me when purchasing at Kona. At that point I had never heard of TPI at all. When I did a web search I was at first confused, it did not correlate well with the literature flashed at Kona. Eventually I realized their are 2 different webpages, one for TPI and another for Premier Access. Go to tradingplaces.com/pa and you will see this web page complete with a picture of the brochure being flashed at Kona sales.

Hope this helps the lengthy discussion going on in this thread.

There are very few resorts that actually participate in this program. It is a program that is purchased by your HOA/Developer/Board, etc.

This list of resorts that are part of the Premier Access family is only published in a Premier Access book given to those owner who are a part of the program. Because the list changes, they do not publish it any place on the internet.

The properties are part of the program, to name a few are Desert Breezes, 4 Seasons @ Desert Breezes, Riverpointe in Napa, Kona Hawaiian village, Mauna Loa village, Royal Vacation Suites, Royal Sea Cliff, Playa del Sol, Skiers Lodge, Sweetwater at Park City, Park Hotel, FF Waikiki Walk....

Some of the perks available with Premier Access include no fee exchanges into certain properties and discounted upgrade fees.

                Isn't this the list here?

And your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries! Now, go away, or I shall taunt you a second time.

That is the list of resorts that Premier Access members can trade into at no exchange fee. Not ALL of those resorts are participating in the Premier Access program.

I don't want to talk to you no more, you empty headed animal food trough wiper.

Not sure if this was already posted as an answer here as I read thru the answers but am on the phone with my son at same time so may have missed it. But here goes anyway, in FF/Wyndham if you own in Hawaii you are a member of TPI thru the Premier Access group and you can use your points to book directly thru TPI. Our home resort in Wyndham is Kona and we have this.
If your Wyndham home resort is not one of these then you accomplish a trade thru TPI the same way as you do the other independents, you book a Wyndham week with your points and call TPI and let them know what you have booked and they take care ofbthe exchange..I don't know if it involves getting a guest cert or not as I have never done it.

                      Fairfield deposit to TPI

I had booked Vintage Landing, and it was a blue studio (28K deposit.) TPI said they would take it if FF confirmed it, so it was definitely FF that nixed the deal. Is there something about 28K deposits that we should know about?
