  • On-line Or Off-line Deposit?

I am debating on whether to have an on-line or off-line deposit with RCI. I will have points left over after I bank my FF points and I need some advice on the best way to utilize this. I have a choice on how much to points to use. My dilemma is what to do with the rest of my points -
    I will have 45,000 pts left over - should I deposit 42K or 28K?
    which has better trading power?
I don't really want to waste too many points. I am okay if I lose the 3,000 pts but 17K is a lot. I wouldn't know what to do with that. Any advise I can get is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

I don't think you will get a visible deposit but you can try. As between a 42k and a 28k, both are off season studios. I would go with the 42k unless you wanted to rent 11k from FF to deposit 2 x 28k.

If these are Regular Use points, you might consider renting them on the Yahoo site. At $6 per 1,000, that's $270.

      M,

I am going to move this post over to the Fairfield forum as your answer will best be found among those members.

I DO hope you can attend our Live FF Chat tonight. It is in your best interest to learn how to maximize your ownership.

Also to be considered is what you are looking for for an exchange and when.

You will most likely get a Gereric deposit (non online searchable) so that debate probably will never occur.

By banking points do you mean you have already made or intend to an RCI or possibly II deposit or that you will pool points with FF.

Mike covered it pretty well but if you could clear up some unknowns the advise may be more tailored.

I will probably do what Mike says (thanks, Mike ), about depositing a generic 42K in RCI. In order to book something with this deposit, do I wait for a bulk spacebank in a place I might be interested in, say Williamsburg, and just call RCI to let them know that I have a deposit with them and that I would like to exchange it with Williamsburg?
          Thanks!

            OK then.

You would make the deposit and then call the FF RCI number.

Williamsburg is an easy trade. When you have your travel dates set call and see if you can book it then if not have them do an ongoing search. You shoud not have much trouble getting what you want as long as you do not do things last minute.

I tried for an on-line (visible) deposit recently. I never received the deposit and I never heard back from FF. When I called they simply told me that on-line is not available often.

                Hope this helps.
