I couldn't be in front of any computer last night because our son and his wife had a co-ed soccer game (this son is 30, so you would think we would not be going to soccer games anymore Some kids never outgrow this stuff.).
I was so disappointed to miss the chat, though I read the transcript this morning, which took over an hour! It was long.
Fairshare is confusing. I have already asked a bunch of questions and seem to have a mindblock on understanding the system. I am used to weeks and have been pretty happy with it. We are really loving RCI points as they are right now, the system is simple, but that is going to change, because it is RCI. I want to try Fairshare, whether by purchasing or by converting.
I saw the conversion rate (on the chat transcript for one week), then the price for additional weeks. I was hoping to find out why this same conversion rate is not holding true for PAHIO. PAHIO owners on our chat group have reported conversion rates of $17K for current owners. This gets an additional points package for an EOY, then they convert your current week. This does not seem to be in keeping with what Wyndham does elsewhere. It will keep us from even considering the conversion to points. I would rather sell these weeks and buy Fairshare points on ebay for 1-2 cents per point.
Does anyone know what point values will be for Shearwater and Bali Hai? We own a crapload of weeks we can convert. I would bet we would have over a million points with our weeks. We own two one bedrooms, one two bedroom and one three bedroom at Bali Hai and one two bedroom at Shearwater. These were all purchased resale. I would be thrilled if they would convert for under $3K the first week and $1K for each additional. I don't know what our maintenance fees would be, either.
We are going to an owners' update next week, during our Shearwater stay. What questions should I ask?
I need to know the cost of converting compared to ebay
What are maintenance fees going to be and are they going to be in that lower range?
Any others?
Maybe I can glean enough information to actually answer your questions this time.
