Mandatory valet parking at resort. $25 daily fee includes 24 hour valet service.
I think that the wording is just confusing on TPI. Maybe they mean it is offered at that price but not mandatory? At least they let you know right upfront about things. Not like some other exchange companies we know.
We know quite a few people that have been there very recently and I'm sure they will chime in on their experiences.

Spence, we are staying at this resort at the end of this month. I am cheap and am not happy about the price. I don't know about tipping, as I feel this is a ridiculous charge for parking, but Rick will feel compelled to tip, I am guessing. I think the price should cover a good wage to the valets. We will see how it goes. I would bet they park those rental cars just inches from one another, to save space.

Yes, it could very well mean that the only parking available is Valet, but that's not how it reads.

$25 is probably the going rate for the area. And yes, I would expect your husband to be more of a tipper than you based on your posts.
FWIW - we just returned from Mayan Palace Nuevo Vallarta. We rented a car, and when we arrived, we unloaded luggage and had the valet park our car. Later that day, we retrieved the car, and thereafter used the self-parking lot.
When we got our bill, they initially charged us for 7 days of valet parking. When I explained we only used the valet parking one day, they adjusted the bill.
That's a roundabout way of saying that the resort billing system is probably geared so that as soon as you show up with a car and use the valet, they default to assuming that you will be using the valet for the entire stay. If the only parking at the resort is valet parking, that is further reason to make that assumption.
I suspect that if you were able to find and use offsite parking, you could get the charge removed. I would be ready with some backup, though, to document that you in fact did not have the car parked in their lot. Or, if you simply never use valet parking (i.e., you drop off the luggage and immediately move the car to an offsite location) they will not charge the valet parking fee since a valet ticket will never be generated for your room.
“Maybe you shouldn't dress like that.”
“This is a blouse and skirt. I don't know what you're talking about.”

You did forget your smilies!
He is pretty cheap, too. Tipping is so necessary for services, since most of those services are underpaid. We always tip the maids in our timeshares. I want that person to know how much we appreciate their service!
Our foster son is now grown (27 years old and still a big part of our family), and he works for $2.25 an hour at Pappadeaux. Some people don't tip because they assume he makes a lot of money, since it is an upcale restaurant. I think he should be paid minimum wage+ tips and think the restaurants are getting by with underpaying their employees too easily. But even if he made minimum wage, that would not be enough and he would require a tip anyway. He makes good money without the higher hourly wage, but there is a lot of down time, when he is rolling silverware, sweeping the carpet, wiping down countertops and filling the ice machines. There is so much "sidework" servers do in a shift. (LePeep makes the employees clean the bathrooms for their measly pay.) He works hard a few hours a night for that $2.25 per hour. That is not right, but that is my opinion.
I just stayed at the FF Waikiki, so I have a definitive answer to this question.
There is a mandatory occupany tax per night. My two bedroom unit had about a $5/night tax for that purpose. I don't recall the exact amount. The same is true for all timeshares I've stay at in the islands, which at this point, is significant.
The parking fee is only charged if you have a car and only when you first check the car in. We only had a car there for 4-nights for a 7-night stay. What the valet does is have you complete a card when you first give them your car and ask for your check out date. You only get charged for the days you use.
The imperial next door only charges $15/night for guests. I believe it is $25 if you are not a guest.
As I know, beside Waikiki, FF has 3 other resorts charge Valet Parking. Skyline Tower Atlantic City NJ, Ocean Walk Daytona Beach FL, and Harbour Lights San Diego CA. All are the same, if you use it, you pay, otherwise, no.
I thought that if a 'tipped professional' did not end up making at least minimum wage in that shift that their employer had to make up the difference? So your son should not be stuck at $2.25. Ever.
