WE DID IT! We bought Fairshare Plus Points and are reading all the literature!
As for the comment from the OP "I want strong trade power. I want to be able to come to Hawaii when we want and pull Shearwater that way. The idea of Worldmark is a good one." I personally believe you'll be better off with what you own and not being dependant on trades to get to Hawaii when you want to go. I wouldn't count on anything staying the way it is "today" . . . forever . . . particularly with FF. Just my bias, but they change their rules and policies too often to suit their own needs at the expense of owners who have bought into their pyramid scheme to escalate the perceived need for MORE POINTS . . . and higher VIP levels. Again . . . I have a bias so you may want to take my viewpoint with a grain of salt.
The OP is in the rental biz and wants to be able to rent out Hawaii t/s weeks owned and also exchange into Hawaii for personal use. That's the reason for the need for a very strong trading week or points system. Correct me if I'm wrong Cindy, but haven't you been renting out most of your Hawaii timeshare weeks?

Carol C., yes we do rent out our Hawaii weeks, we own four (we just sold a fifth week) and have done that for several years now. We have done very well and will continue for a while, until we decide what to do.
Emmy, we talked to BocaBum, which was so nice to meet him in person! He is as nice in person as he is on these forums, but I know you also met him.
Anyway, BocaBum agreed that it was a good deal because maintenance fees are decent at PAHIO for the number of points. We thought about keeping it, but we could not see paying this much money for something we were unsure about, so we rescinded.
We had several problems with the deal:
First, the salesman lied and said we could change the PIC weeks whenever we wanted. We gave them two deposits and thought we could change them next year, but that is not true.
Second, our kids are on all of our recent deeds, all 11 of them, and they could not be on the VIP Platinum because they were not present. I think it would have behooved them to do the harder paperwork to get their signatures, rather than to have us rescind. They knew we were waivering at that time, because we wanted the kids to share the VIP status.
Third, trade power is not necessarily great for generic deposits in RCI. I was hoping to get us back into Shearwater on trades through RCI with 154,000 points. That is not necessarily going to happen, since many generic deposits into RCI are poor performers, according to other owners.
Fourth, we can buy a small points package and try Fairshare on for size, so why pay that much?
There were other reasons we rescinded, but we decided we can always do this at a later date. If Wyndham made it cheaper next year or the year after, we would sure feel goofy about doing it at these prices. We had enough doubts that rescinding seemed our only option, as we did not want to regret not doing it, as you mentioned in another post, Emmy.
Jya-Ning, the deal was okay, you were right about that. The doubts were there, both in the system as others described it to us, and in the salesman's lies. Thanks for your help and advice as well!
