  • Is this a good deal?

This will be my first TS purchase. My parents own 2 TS w/ Peppertree (deeded weeks) so I'm not completely foreign to TS. I've sat through a TS presentation w/ BlueGreen (& learned to keep saying NO!, lol) so I know a little about how points work. We stayed at Wyndham Ocean Boulevard resort in North Myrtle Beach this past w/e & absolutely loved it. It was such a short stay that we had no time to speak w/ anyone there about purchasing a timeshare; which now that I've skimmed the forum, I realize that's probably a good thing. I've looked at Wyndham Resorts website & see they have resorts in many of the areas we intend to vacation in eventually - San Antonio, Williamsburg & a new 1 going up in NYC. I have been looking on ebay & found this:

eBay: 175,000 FAIRFIELD WYNDHAM PTS GOLD CROWN TIMESHARE (item 260113439023 end time May-30-07 18:30:00 PDT)

Is this a decent deal? I searched on redweek.com, as suggested in some other threads, & it appears to be as they currently have listings in the range of $5,500-$38,000.

Are there any specific Q's I should ask the seller?

Thanks so much for any adivce.

    1. Ask if it is a converted fixed week or UDI deed? If a converted fixed week deed, find out the week and unit.

    2. Ask if you can get the contract number for the deed?

    3. Ask if there is any outstanding loan that needs to be paid off?

    4. Ask if the maintenance fees have been paid to date?

Even allowing a premium for Seawatch as your home resort, the price seems a little high.
If you're patient you may find a similar offer for not much more than a penny a point.
Here's an auction of 189,000 points in Nashville that went for significantly less: FAIRFIELD -NASHVILLE- TIMESHARE 189,000 POINTS

Thanks so much! I'll do a little more research into this.

We want to be able to go to Myrtle Beach at least every other year, that's why I was looking specifically for TS in Myrtle Beach. Has anyone here used their points w/ Fairfield in Myrtle Beach (when that's not where your TS is)? I've heard it can be difficult, but we would rarely go in the top summer months. Likely April or May.

If you are going to go in April or May, you should be able to book a reservation at 10 months or less. Owning at Myrtle Beach is really required for reserving the summer months because you can reserve at 13 months.
