  • Wyndham Quickie Question!

Am I correct in my thinking that you can borrow points from the coming year? - say you want/need 30,000 points more for 2008 - you can borrow from 2009?

And if your 'use year' begins in January - you get ALL your points related to that contract on January 1?

If I wanted to reserve a week use in January 2009, do I use the 2008 points or 2009?
I think the answer is 2009 - so in order to do that, do u pre-pay ALL the 2009 MF at the time you reserve?

    Thanks in Advance.

    I realized I had another question....sorry!

When can you make reservations of less then 7 days?

Such as adding on 3 days to a full week resie?

    Thanks

You can only borrow for Express reservations within the next 90 days. However, if you cancel a reservation more than 30-days in advance of check-in, and that reservation used borrowed points, they revert to cancel points in the use year of the reservation. They are not returned to their original use year. So, you can use book-and-cancel to "wash" borrowed points and use them to book Standard reservations in the current UY.

All points are available on the first day of your UY.

Reservations pull from the UY in which they start. So, a 7-day reservation starting on 1/1/09 would pull from the 2009 UY (assuming Jan-Dec UY). A 7-day reservation starting on 12/31/08 would pull entirely from the 2008 UY.

You do not need to pay in advance to commit FSP points. You only need to be current.

You can make a 3-day reservation at any time, in any season, unless the resort has additional restrictions. (For example, some resorts book only full weeks, even though they participate in FSP.) Between 10 and 3 months in advance of check-in, (called the Standard Reservation period) you can only book 3, 4, or 7 days during Prime Season time, and it must start or end on a regular check-in day for that resort. Less 3 months in advance, during the Express Reservation period, you can book 2 or more nights, starting and ending at any time, subject to availability. Officially, 2 is the minimum. Often, you can book odd singleton days.

Is there a way u can check if Bluebeards' BeachClub is one of the resorts that allows less then 7 day resies?
How about Elysian? Both are on St Thomas.

Because I wonder if I could book a 7 day Sat to Sat resie (that is the usual check-in day) and then an additional 4 days - Sat to Wednesday???

The directory has point charts for each resort, and will tell you any booking restrictions. It is nominally only available to owners, but this post has a direct link:

If you don't plan to get at week 52 at that resort, you can make reservation from 2 days and up at 10 month period.

I just realized I misunderstood you
                      - so if I am going in ANY week but the one 'special' week which is 52, I could reserve for Sat-Sat 7 days plus 2, 3 or 4 additional days.
