Fairfield resorts in Destin?

I notice there are several resorts in Destin and was wondering which one is the best for having access to the beach. It doesn't sound like any of them are actually situated beachfront but most are across the street from the beach. I'd love to hear your opinions of the resorts at Destin. How hard is it to get in there in late September and early October?

I've only been to Majestic Sun, but it is across the street from the beach. Most of the larger units are oceanview, though. I think the small 1BRs have view of the roof of the parking garage and the lake beyond that.

If you don't need a 2 BR unit, it should not be too hard to get a 1BR in late Sept or in October.
