  • Is it ever worth it to buy and convert?

Thanks to all the help I am getting here - I am getting ready to purchase more Wyndham points.....

And there seems to be some ownerships that would be very worthwhile to buy - even if they aren't converted to points because the MF to 1K ratio is so good.

Has anyone ever done that - bought a week and then paid Wyndham to convert?
    Did it go smoothly?

I believe the fee is $2,499 for the first week and $999 for each week after. Is there any other fees above that?

Most of the good opportunities have probably been converted already, in general I think it is better to look for an already converted week.

Even at $2,500 on say a 154K package, on a 10 yr payback that adds $1.60 to an "adjusted" MF.

Don't forget to add the club due in the MF. It is about $.52???. And it will increase your overall club due (Since with conversion, all your points are in Plus Partnership program). I believe it is about $.02 per 1K

There are still some weeks that may worth the effort, espcially if you have few weeks together. But it is always a headache to get someone in the main corp. willing to do that kind of conversion.

If you can makes the number, go for it. You may find shoulder red seaon (based on FSP's directory, and I will not avoid the one that just in the boundary), big bed room better. Just make sure when you purchase them, call the corp to make sure the week can be converted.

So it is not something that can 'automatically be done?
You have to get someone in Wyndham to agree?
I would have thought they would be happy to take my money !

They would more happy you buy more points from them at a retail price (or higher) and convert for you.

I own a 2 Bdr white week at Patriot's Place. How many points would that be worth if it was converted?

What is the specific week number?
                is it a lock-off?

From 105K (wk 1-8), 126k wk (9-11), 154k (beside wk 23-34 and wk 51). generally, it does not make too much economic sense to convert

But if you can get 154k in eah week, tha it mybe a push over.

It's week 11 and it's a lockoff. I actually want to get rid of it, so I'd sell it very cheaply.

It wouldn't be worth it for less then a 203,000 week.
Points are selling for $0.005 (1/2) to $0.02 (2 cents) per point depending on MFs
