  • Consecutive week reservations ...

Are u able to book consecutive week reservations at the same time?

I want to visit a resort for 3 weeks starting February 1st.
I call on April 1st and reserve the February 1st check-in - do I then have to call back April 8 and then April 15 to reserve the next 2 weeks?

Same question with a 7+4 day reservation - can I make the whole 11 day resie at once or do I have to call back on the 8th day?

A while back we made a 10 day reservation at a Fairfield resort. It had to be made as two consecutive separate reservations, 7 days, then 3 days. We were able to make both reservations at the same time. When we made the reservation, we said that we wanted to be sure we would be in the same unit the whole time, and we were told that we would be. So we were surprised to get a telephone call telling us we were late checking out and needed to leave after we'd been there only a week.

If you must make your long reservation as two separate reservations, you should ask that you stay in the same unit for the entire period. You should call the resort (not reservations) in advance and ask to be in the same unit the entire period. When you check in, you should confirm that you will be in the same unit the entire period and will not have to check out or check back in again.

I guess you were thinking like Marriott or WM that you can make reservation at 10 month and get 10 month and 10 month plus 1 week. FFis more fair (or inconvient depends on how you look at it), you will need to call week back for next week's reservation.

Maybe someone do get back to back vacation at 13 month of 1st week if it is their home resort, or 10 month of 1st week. But I never be able to do that. But you can certainly play with it.

Actually, for some unknown reason, unless it is really hot week, usually you can get it at 8 month. I usually wait 2 or 3 days when I try to use my ARP reservation. and 2 or 3 week for the standard period reservation. Of course, my resort is not the so call "elite" resort from salesman's world. And I usually don't like very crowd time slot.

Did u make the 7+4 at exactly 10 months - or were u less then 10 months where u CAN make multiple reservations?

Yes, that is where my thinking was coming from - I am a multi week Marriott owner

I won't ever be reserving at my 'home resort' so this is why I always refer to the 10 month reservation window - so according to your info, I will have to call back each week.
Jya-Ning, my goal is to reserve in St Thomas in January/February so I will be calling at exactly 10 months out - we use FF tickets so a lot of 'stuff' has to line up to make this all work.

I don't remember how far in advance we made the reservation. I do remember that we initially booked a 3 BR, but within a few days Fairfield called us back and said that they had made a mistake and double booked the 3BRs and we would have to have a 2BR lockoff instead. We were booking at a resort where we own points, but were making a reservation for more points than we owned, so I know it was after 10 months before checkin. I did not keep a record of the initial 3BR reservation, but the reservation for the 2BR lockoff was made Oct 16 for a checkin date of August 2, so I suspect I made the initial reservation for the 3BR on Oct 2.

It is a converted resort. I don't believe there are a lot of UDI inventories. So I don't know what kind of availability will be. But if 25% owner make conversion, there will still be a lot of availability. The major holiday may be out reach, but middle to end of Jan and begging of Feb should still be makeable.

I never feel the need to pursue the back to back at exact 10 month. So if a VC told me no, I usually stop trying. But that does not mean there will be no VC that will allow you do that unless the new computer system get rid of most human overwrite.

But the on-line reservation rule is you have to call each week seperately and should have no work around.

That is interesting - I will ask the HOA president how much of the resort is in points...there are fixed week owners, float week owners and points owners....
