Can I borrow points from 2010 to make an ARP reservation for 2009?

If I buy FSP points from a different resort can I use those for ARP at my home resort? (I don't think so but want to be sure).

    Thanks.

For an ARP reservation in 2009, you need to have all 2009 points at the resort.

Only qualifier here is if the your home resort is in Myrtle Beach and your new contract is from another Myrtle Beach resort and both deeds are UDI, you can combine to ARP.

I have also heard that this may apply to Destin resorts also.

You can borrow points from next year to make reservations this year IF YOU book a reservation within 90days of your stay and IF YOU cancel those reservations than the points you pulled over will have to be used in the CURRENT year.

              So for example

              - I book a reservation for say 60 days out Nov. 1st
              - To do that I borrow points from 2009 ... say 100K
              - I cancel that reservation before the 15 day cancelation deadline
              - Those points are put back into my account, but have to be used by Dec. 2008 and are no longer Jan 1 - Dec 31st, 2009 points
              - I now have to use those 100K points by Dec 31st 2008

Ok I have 253k points left for 2009. I need an additional 22k points to get what I want in 2009.

We are getting into the 10 month period time frame when anyone can book a reservation at my home resort.

                Do I understand this properly?

I can rent the 22k 2009 points from someone and then get what I want if it is available?

I can only borrow from my 2010 points if my reservation is going to be withing the next 90 days....which it is not. In other words I cannot borrow from my 2010 points to get a reservation in July/August '09 at my home resort.

Yes, you have it right. In a few days, you can arrange a 09 trip, cancel it, get all points return in 09, and use it for 09 trip. For now, your only option is to rent from other owner, or look like you only short by 1 day, so you can rent from Wyndham but it is $10/k which is costly.

You can also pull some points from 2010 ny put them in credit pool, but then you will not be able to ARP these points in 09. Based on your post, I will guess ARP is more important for now.
