Wyndham FSP resale - would they change the terms of the original contract?

I am specifically referring to the owner use dates for the FSP points. If the original contract was for August to August would they change it to January to December?

All of my research tells me they would not change anything with the use dates. Does anyone have any different experience or have you heard of them changing the dates?

Also from my research I understand that Wyndham will not use any resale points towards any type of VIP status even if you had a developer purchased week. Wyndham has told me this is true. Many of you say it is true. I have a reseller telling me it is not true and that Wyndham does do it.....has this changed?

    Thanks.

Use year: you can change it, but it is not to your advantage to do so---effectively, you "defer" your points allocation for some number of months, but continue to pay MFs on them. So, you lose the number of months' use you advance by. WynFSP doesn't have a July/August UY. They are: Jan-Dec, Apr-Mar, Jul-Jun, and Oct-Sep.

I am aware of only one way to wash a resale deed: you have to find a sales rep willing to take the resale deed in as part of an equity transfer. It's been a while since I've read of anyone getting that offer during a sales tour---it popped up very briefly some months ago, but receeded back into the woodwork. As I recall, the new purchase required was still pretty steep.

They (wyndham) may find that it works better for them to have everyone have the same use year and may descide to change it. And since most everything is subject to change, ( except the deeded week of TS which yields the FSP points) they likely could do it. But, If they changed the use year to Jan-dec instead of aug-july who cares? (other than the one year they make the change)

As you stated it would make a difference in the year they do it as it would change the ARP dates and also paying maintenance fees on expiring points that may be essentially worthless without the ARP. ARP is very important to me and that is why I buy at a particular resort.

I am in a situation now that the points were supposed (advertised) to be August to August and Wyndham says the original contract was Jan-Dec. So I have 2008 points to pay maintenance fees on that will not transfer into 2009 for ARP and I am not very happy about it. The reseller claims that Wyndham changed the dates for the points. The several Wyndham reps (including supervisors and title reps) that I spoke to says the original contract was a Jan/Dec anniversary for points. The original resale from a different reseller that I purchased at the same resort is a Jan/Dec timeframe.

So who is lying or misinformed? That is what I am trying to determine.

Well, as there is no August use year in Wyndham, I'm guessing your reseller is the problem.

Wyndham use year is Jan, April, July, Oct. There is no Aug starting date.

ps. they want you to be able to use your point very soon after you bought from them. And yet still has 1 full year of usuage.
