  • Attn Wyndham Owners

Wyndham owners, do you get calls every day from Wyndham. Did you answer and they were offering you a discounted getaway to learn about how to manage your pts, better utilize your timeshare? Thats me...

    I have a confession:

I currently work for Wyndham Vacation Resorts in their bring a friend dept. The sales reps who call the owners and sell discounted packages to owners to bring a friend along are liars. We use creative ways of telling the owner that they are not going to a sales presentation, rather it is education on how to use their timeshare.

We knowingly mislead owners daily in order to sucker them into buying the package and bringing along qualifing guests (who we have no interest in selling...yeah right) on the false promise of helping them better manage their points, get into the resorts they want to visit.... Put them in a position of strength as manager Maurice Brooks says. But, it is lies. We all know they will get nothing more than a 2hr beat down to purchase more pts. But there is no other way to sell the packages.

I feel bad for all the owners travel plans ruined by our false pretenses.

As a Wyndham owner, nothing that you have written is a surprise to me. You can believe that owners are much smarter than you think and know that ALL events that require a 90 or 120 minute presentation is to sell you more points.

Second, why are you still working there when you come post on a public forum of your distrust of Wyndham? If you are so unhappy, why not leave?

I second Mike. I don't understand your motivation in coming here and telling us this "secret" info. Maybe you truely do feel bad for the owners you try to dupe, I will give you the benefit of the doubt on this, but, you must realize that we Wyndham owners are not buffoons, and that we realize that, as Mike said, any offer that requires us to sit thru any kind of a presentation is for the express purpose of selling us additional points. We know that and yet sometimes we do attend these "informational meetings" as we are knowledgeable enough to resist the bait.
Thanks for your concern for us, but, I think the real "fish" are mostly not here on the forums, we keep each other pretty well informed here.

It's possible (even probable) that there are a lot of owners who do fall for these things. It's unlikely that many of them are reading here at TS4M, though.
